I think your demeanour is taken into account, no? If you are seen to show contrition, apologise etc then the judge certainly can take that into account...

Not sure about murder, but I've read plenty of situations where an early guilty plea has reduced a sentence - apparently this reduces trauma for victim/family etc not having to be part of a prolonged court saga.

I am fine with Pocock's response to this, and I think it was the right thing to do.

The media painting him as some sort of saint annoys me though. He is getting plaudits for doing this, which makes no sense because at the end of the day he still did it, and will be sitting out the next two weeks because of it. It was a play that was at best reckless, and certainly dangerous.

His apology should be greeted with a nod of the head, but nothing more. Certainly not vigorous applause.

That's not Pocock's fault, though.

I wasn't likening it to it, with lawyers involved in the judiciary process, you would argue that they treat it like a real court room, so was an actual question, not trolling cos Leitch coulda died worse than BOD.

So arguably the second best openside of his generation, probably the first now McCaw has retired but definitely far and away the best apologist.

Ha, "Don't blush baby", funny to be reminded of that again.

Tyson Fury's is fine if you ask me a bit of a "said something that made me sound like a dick but if I upset you I'm sorry....and that's that" type thing. He's hardly obliged to say anything let alone apologise.....

Has Tana said sorry to BOD yet ?
