SRA Round 9: Chiefs v Hurricanes

And then I read this article.
βHe woke up on Sunday and felt a little bit dusty, so straight away, we ruled him out for the week.β McMillan said there was no major concern for Jacobson β βheβs looking as bright as anythingβ β and the 24-year-old was close to being rested after playing 80 minutes in all six of the Chiefsβ matches this year. βThis little setback is timely, I think, because we probably would have considered giving him some time out either this week or next,β McMillan said. -
I woke up Sunday dusty too, and I still had to go to work Monday...

I thought I did pretty well with my selections I am very surprised with Numia, and Rayasi starting, also glad Iose will get some game time.
@mikey07 I'm surprised that you're surprised. Numia was excellent against the Crusaders. Infact, after Savea and Coles, he was probably the pick of the forwards.

@mn5 haha so true.
In a post which will surprise no one I havenβt watched a lot of Canes games so find it hard to comment......but what does this guy offer when any number of recent Welsh backs are taller than him ?
@mn5 the fact that you don't watch the Canes often and you still have the same impression on Blackwell says somthing. No one knows why he keeps getting selected, at this point only injury will prevent him from starting.

@canes4life Only because we know what Holland and his selections are like..

Ditto, except I was stuffed right to the back of the dog box too.
Suppose you get that when you tell the Mrs you'll be home at 7.30ish but don't turn up until 4 hours later. Whoopsie.Wasn't the first, won't be the last.

I was just dropping of Mrs Mikey and Junior Mikey at Wellington Airport and the Canes were here checking there baggage first thing IWL is quite tall but not as bulky as his appearance suggests, 2nd thing I saw Blackwell walk past and was tempted to give you all an early Xmas present and accidentally land on his ankle and break it
, thirdly had to bite my tongue when Holland and Gibbs walked past I so wanted to give them a verbal but I bit my tongue

Fifita as wing cover.

Quite a bizzare selection this one. What the hell is Fifita doing there as you already have a specialist lock (ready to come on when Scrafton suffers his almost certain injury) and specialist No. 8 on the bench and you know R Prinsep and J Blackwell are never going to be replaced as that will impact too seriously on the onfield leadership quotient of the team so he won't be needed at any stage.

@mikey07 almost! Rayasi has to have game time for sure! and Numia is the best loosehead we have at the canes! and in my opinion the most in form in the country atm

@berhamporeninja I hope Rayasi takes his opportunity tonight to keep Julian Savea out. Savea is like a bad smell we can't seem to get rid of.

Rayasi is probably off to Olympic 7s instead of Trans Ta$man Super so he's probably only got this week and next week left at the Canes for this year.
@kiwimurph probably for good as well. I'd put money on him leaving.

@kiwimurph Nanai-Seturo will have the same decision to make.

@canes4life Rayasi worries me, he disappears for large parts of games.

As opposed to Savea who disappears for entire games?

@kirwan a bit unfair. You can still see Julian on the field. Especially as he doesn't move that much.

Don't disagree mate, I wasn't suggesting that Savea is a better choice, actually not overly convinced that either are going to add a lot in the long run.
