yep - they got sold up the river by the interchange saying Sam Darry was on. It was a break in play ... but then they called him Darry about 5 times. Very funny.
As for my previous comment, was looking at the shoulder charge by Rebels. It's a poster child for what they are trying to stamp out of the game - high risk, tucked arm, defender chose not to make a tackle, no mitigating factors. In a consistent world (ha ha ha), that would be a straight yellow, and red if it was slightly higher. NZ Refs this year seem to have an aversion to actually using the frameworks.
anyhoo, arguably a penalty try given proximity to the line as well, but we all know that's apparently not a thing in that game (Choat, scrums, etc)

Very good game last night. Back to the form that saw him selected as an AB. Took him a while to get there this season though.
Cullen Grace similar. Maybe it was a 'second season' thing?

The match was a stylistic nightmare for the Rebels. They couldn't keep up with us physically which took its toll as the match went on.
I was actually quite disappointed with how we went in the backs in the first half. It was similar to how we went for a lot of SRA where we weren't finishing opportunities but we got away with it mainly due to our opposition.
Cowley-Tuioti and Goodhue were strong (Cowley-Tuioti is an extremely underrated player), along with our loose trio, Tu'inukuafe murdered their scrum, and I'm liking what I'm seeing of our newbies at the back. Clarke, Lam and Sullivan to go with Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkins could be our back 3 for a very long time.
Bring on the Tahs next week.

Went to the game.
The first 30 or so minutes was what I feared. A Pickerill penalty fest + Rebels limited style + sloppy Blues.
Thankfully the Blues opened up after that.
The Blues won the gain line more and more as the game went on. Rebels just couldn't deal with the physicality.
Rebels set piece was woeful. How Rebels hooker Uelese was a Wallaby is beyond me
Blues attack definitely benefits from having proper halfbacks who can actually take advantage of space.
Zarn and Lam very impressive. Lam's kick chase work was excellent and Zarn sees space very well.
That's the 3rd strong game in a row from Sotutu. Good to see.

Still plenty to work on, but happy with the win. It's not often that we put 50 on a team. We've only managed to do it one other time over the last 10 years(56 - 18 against the Rebels in 2017).

@african-monkey probably close to Goodhue’s most complete game , there’s a superb moment where he drops a subtle offload to Gerard Crowley Tuioti gets slightly checked but is still the first player to clean out 30 metres down field when GCT is tackled , if that clean out does not happen , it’s probably a penalty and Akira Ioane does not score down the left flank ..I watched Ofa Tuangafasi who was jogging along like he’s was out strolling on a Sunday afternoon and yet was in the best position to be the first to clean out ..
