Jacobson must have been MOTM I imagine?

DMac for me, he was involved in everything, attack, defence.

I'm not normally a huge fan, but he was bloody impressive

Is Lowe injured? Seems odd to take him off if not. Especially if Tiatia is going to the wing.

When the teams walked of the field, Lowe had ice strapped on, or just under, his knee and he was limping a bit. Hopefully it's not too bad and he can play, next week. He had a great game. It's a pity his "try" was disallowed. It was a beauty. Great turnover, too, and a try-saving tackle.

Of the back three, Tiatia was the weakest. Why does he keep getting picked?

Though ALB was awesome again. Great game from Dmac, too. Best forward was Jacobson IMO. Ross was good, too.

How was baillyn sullivan? He showed so much promise as a schoolboy

Had enough good moments to warrant another go.
Coaches have said that they haven’t been pleased with their back three options with no one stringing performances together and demanding selection. This might be a chance for him.

Watched game this morning. Thought Sullivan did add a bit of explosiveness badly needed out wide. Lowe is like Wainui very solid but not a line breaker. Sullivan has acceleration and strength. Was interested to see changes in Dmac's game so evident. Has become very physical and runs from isolation far less often. Presumably instructions from coaches. Thought Jacobson Boshier Taukeiaho and Ross were all extremely good. But the restricted line out targets is a continued achilles heel. Hopefully Finau and Ah Kuoi are available next week. Not sold on Sowakula.

Luke Jacobson is playing some terrific Rugby right now. He's making a very compelling case for All Black selection, he just turns up and plays great rugby week in, week out,

Out of the candidates for the AB 8 spot he is the one I would like to see, especially against the teams where we will have a ridpe old battle up front. He has a fantastically solid game (and more) and he doesn't strike me as someone who will go 'missing. Really good to see playing this way.

I think there is a good chance, he was in the RWC squad until injured - the coaches see the promise there

It's what they have done recently. No idea why when Nankivell later ends up on the wing too.

best game by the chiefs for years

Yeah we were saying leaving the ground it was the best home performance in a while.

Good to see the experienced players like ALB, DMac and Jacobson lead from the front. Nankivell's best game for the Chiefs too. Unsung hero was Mafileo.

Hopefully Vaa'i is good to go next weekend. I doubt Lord was expecting to play the full game.

    @bovidae
agree with all that plus more depth on bench. still short of a actual lock on bench.

Watched first half. Jacobson, DMac and ALB all very good. Chiefs scrum dominant. Ross and, in particular, Mafileo getting plaudits. A word also for Vaa’i at TH — excellent grunt and noticeably weakened when he went off, and Taukei'aho, who seems to have been very effective attacking Alaalatoa.

As against Ponies, who Ben Darwin on podcast said were trying a new TH lock behind Alaalatoa. Hames also noted that chiefs scrum lost extreme potency once Vaa'i departed.
