Matt Todd seems to have stepped up a gear this year especially in terms of physicality. He really is impressive. Bit of a throwback to the old style type seven. Then again so has Sam Cane who is becoming a real beast and Ardie Savea who is making big strides. There is some serious talent running around.

Yeah um, feeling pretty good after watching that, we've won 7 in a row including games in Durban, Johannesburg, Perth and Canberra (shitholes), and some good players looking pretty bloody smart as a team. A few <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/index.php/topic/41945-why-the-blues-are-going-ok/'>little things to worry about obviously</a>.
 
The Bumboys weren't terrible, defended well and made plenty of concerning breaks, but they but didn't like the pressure at all and got rattled. Moor is a meathead when things aren't going his way, Ellis got right up his enormous nose.
 
The best players have been mentioned above, BUT; Todd was excellent; Reado's leadership is amplified in a small but important way by Ellis'; Nadolo Is A Deadset Canterbury Legend; I wanted to see more Damien McKenzie's Brother but Mo'anga SUDDENLY started kicking well - that clearance to touch for the lineout(s) and try was beautiful; also nice to see the bench being emptied and the replacements adding something, patterns worked etc; Fancy-shirted Bumboys could live offside and pass forward and still get rodgered.

Although Johnny Mc is more reliable under the high ball and does seem to know how to bounce out of tackles pinball styles. 
Jone Mac has serious wheels though which is also great to have on the end of an attacking line.

I can't remember seeing it during the game. Does anyone have a video link of this incident? Newshub Sport posted something (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://twitter.com/NewshubSport/status/724337360729563137'>https://twitter.com/NewshubSport/status/724337360729563137</a>) on Twitter, but that's Dagg lifting someone's leg and that player didn't fall to the ground as he already had his hands on the ground. Can't be the incident Nadolo has been cited for.
 
Edit: I looked at it again and then noticed the lifting tackle by Nadolo just after Dagg lifts another player's leg. It's very hard to see and I'm not sure whether Cubelli actually lands upper body first & whether he lands on the ground or on Nadolo. Not straightforward.

Immense performance by the Cantabs forward pack and now they have a backline to be reckoned with. How much money is Nadalo being offered overseas.? He is a freak. Chiefs Crusader game will be epic if the Chiefs pack can hang with the Crusaders.

Crotty didn't play this game. He's certainly in the running, just saying his stock shouldn't go up because of this match.

Volavola was pretty unimpressive, but Hunt was outstanding, reminded me a little bit of MacKenzie

Considering that Evemy also got 4 weeks, I think Nadolo's ban is a bit harsh.

Could be worse, the highlanders game is the biggest concern.
 
Wonder if Fruen is far away? I'll keep an on club rugby as Toddy likes his players to return from injury that way

 SANZAAR duty judicial officer Chris Morris accepted a guilty plea from Nadolo after he was cited for a dangerous lifting tackle on Brumbies halfback Tomas Cubelli. "After careful consideration of the available evidence ... the offence was categorised as low-end which carries a four weeks suspension," Morris said. "I took into account as mitigating factors the player's disciplinary record after a lengthy professional career, his guilty plea and the fact that the tackle was reckless rather than deliberate. The player was therefore given a two week discount on the original sanction creating a recommended sanction of two weeks. "I took into account World Rugby memorandums about lifting tackles and the need to deter this very action from the game. As such I found it necessary to add two additional weeks to the recommended sanction. "The player is accordingly suspended from all rugby for four weeks until 21 May 2016 which effectively is a three match Super Rugby suspension. We were provided with proof that he would have been selected to play in a club match on 30 April 2016, which the player will also miss as a result of the suspension." With the Crusaders due for a bye next week, Nadolo will only miss three games and will be available for selection when they play the Waratahs on May 20.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that they add two weeks, just to deter others. The law alone should be sufficient deterrence. If they don't consider 4 weeks enough, than they should lift the initial penalty, not something arbitrary like this. 
As I said above, Evemy also got 4 weeks for a worse offence (mid-range v Nadolo's low-range). How can the penalty be the same?

just highlights the inconsistencies of the Judiciary when WWE moves can get away with much lesser punishment.
 
Apparently the starting point for Emery was 6 weeks, discounted because of guilty plea and remorse (Grr) but suspect that as he all but missed the Sharks match was taken into account...which I thnk was about right, it was careless with no intent and deserved a decent ban.
 
I'll have to watch Nadolos again on a better feed cos it didn't look that bad, so he pleads guilty, probably remorseful and they add 2 weeks as a deterrent!
