Try to Plummer. I've never noticed Plummer's Hobbit ears before.

Auckland lucky to still have 15 men on the field.

Bonus point win. Denied them a bonus point.

                      Love it.

                        Terrible officiating at the end.

Great that Auckland denied them the bonus point though.

Lose was channelling his inner TJ when Canterbury nearly scored then, thankfully I didn't have any glasses out as his shrieking would have cracked them.

I missed a lot of the first half. How did Corey Evans go at 12?

@tim Pretty quiet I thought, will be better for the run though.

Good start in tough conditions. Yes Canterbury were weakened up front a bit, but we really gave it to them especially in the 1st half. Was gonna be tough holding on in the 2nd, but we dug deep, and any win against the Cantabs is a good win.

Ekuasi looks a talent! Hope Sullivan will be ok too.

Ultimately the big lead Auckland built in the first half was too much to overcome. We were probably lucky to get as close as we did anyway, given the opportunist nature of our first try. But there was around half an hour there in the second half that gave me cause for much optimism. If we're not too beaten up on the table by the time a few of our more seasoned pros come back in then some of these kids could do great things in combination and we should challenge for another title. Just on that, what is Corey Kellows' position? He obviously came on as a replacement openside flanker and looks a good build for 7 but two lots of size stats have him at 105kg and 1.87m and alternatively 101kg and 1.92m. I think the comms thought he was coming on for Stowers originally? I mean either way, more than large enough to play lock for Wellington and the Canes, but where has he played for rep sides?

Last thing, and it was fucking infuriating, was how often we just let the ball sit on the ground before someone thought to claim it. Heaps. Especially in the first half. Real lack of sense of urgency, and possibly one of those things that doesn't gel when mixing full time pros with emerging talent.

In real time, I was sure Canterbury had knocked on for that first try.

Good challenge though, really tested the Auckland side and they stood up. Was impressive.
