    Total for September so far:

    Walk 163.73km
    Run 8.35km
    Bone 21.34km

Total is 193.42km so I can get to 200 tomorrow with a lazy stroll.

Weigh in Thursday morning - last week versus this week:

    Week 0: Weight 107.80kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 116cm

    Week 1: Weight 107.05kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 2: Weight 106.60kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 3: Weight 106.70kg 😐 , Chest 117cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

Bit of a plateau weight wise - mainly to do with eating yesterday which was not great. I can't even use the excuse of being on annual leave, because I'm ALWAYS fucking home these days πŸ™‚ but it is an opportunity to really smash next week's result.

At least the waist is starting to come in a bit and I'll add more sessions for abs and body weight this week rather than just doing massive distance.

If the tape measure starts looking good, the weight is kind of irrelevant.

Slow start to October so far - motiviation a little low on the long weekend with a few drinks πŸ™‚ but DST kicking in and going back to work gives me an opportunity to get back into it.

Yesterday was a half-jog thing. The new Merrell Trail Glove 6 is a weird fit and I'm keen to see how long they last - the TG 4 and 5 were about 400km recorded but I also used them casually a fair bit.

Next step is to look at the calorie calculations on Strava and see what is the level of effectiveness of walking v running. As the weather heats up, taking walks in the middle of the day just won't be practical.

Rarely if ever an issue where I live.

@mn5 was already 26C for that walk at 9AM.

Later in the year it'll be 30+ at 8AM.

Got to 37 here today. It's a bit of a shock to the system.

Fuck absolutely ALL of that. I love my seasons. Summer has it’s place but I love a nice fire while looking at a cold storm outside.

    It’s still Spring !!!!

It’s a different 37 than it would be in NZ or am I imagining that ? I remember the garden thermometer in the wairarapa ( @NTA is a big fan of that place ) would get up and around there in Jan/Feb and literally all you could do was look for some shade and a cold beer.

I remember watching the weather when I lived in Sydney and there was a difference of 10 or more degrees at times between the coast and more inland places.

Still, could say the same about Upper Hutt and the rest of Wellington I guess, it roasts out that way in Summer.

This week with DST starting, I've set the alarm for 0600 to get out and rack up some km.

Is it dark at 6am there mate? Is still for us so DST has meant a later start for any outdoor activity. And a much later start for any night time trail rides too

@jk not exactly dark - sun isn't getting over the hill east of my place until closer to 0640 but plenty of light. This photo was 0620

Figure if I average 8.2km for 6 days a week in these 6am timeslots, I can get to 200km in October.

For the first Saturday with eased restrictions I'll be doing a whole day (20km+) as the guest part of The Great North Walk which will hopefully be before the end of the month.

    Week 3: Weight 106.70kg 😐 , Chest 117cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 4: Weight 105.70kg πŸ™‚ , Chest 117cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

Kind of cheating as I weighed in immediately after the 9km I posted above, BUT on the other hand I did drink 400mL of water before going for the run, so that probably makes it even.

As suspected: last week's weigh in was a bit of bloat and perhaps over-indulging for dinner the night before. The main thing is I'm holding about half a kilo loss per week (2.10kg down since Week 0). If I maintain that through to end of November as planned, I'll be around 102kg which will be decent going. If I can accelerate that without causing any harm I'll do it - calorific deficit isn't a huge problem when your body fat is north of 25%.
