Farking so hot working out at moment, getting through 3L+ of water during a workout.

2 huge workouts this weekend to offset the fact I knew my calorie intake yesterday and today was gonna be huge - 5000+ past 2 days (conservative estimate) but that is the worst Xmas weekend (in terms of food/drink) out of the way until Xmas actual.

Been taking my boxing gloves to the gym and finishing on the bag for my cardio, been worried it may affect my tennis/golfers elbow, but I think it might turn out to be good for them, certainly good way to finish a workout!

I put being a bit leaner these days solely down to shadow boxing and bag workouts ( although as we’re in an apartment while looking to buy frustratingly I can’t do the latter at the moment, the bag is in storage ).

Top boxers are, in my opinion, THE best all round athletes on the planet ( although top Rugby players are up there ) and just throwing lots of punches, moving, bobbing and weaving I can see why. If you do it correctly it’s not just cardio, it’ll work the explosive power fucken well too. I wish I’d done it more regularly years ago but better late than never.

Doing rounds on the bag must be outstanding cardio. Really should get into the boxing side more.

working on a bit of volume for deads, to work up to try to hit a PB before end of the year.

          Tonight was 5 x 100, 5 x 140, 3 x 150, 5 x 140, 5 x 120, although hammies/lower back were a bit tight from hyperextensions supersetted with RDLs last night.

Rest day tomorrow, and a work lunch at a new restaurant... probably :beer_mug:

hit the gym early this morning to beat the heat!! :sweat_droplets:

Havent done alot of squats lately, a bit worried about my dodgy knee, but have been working on my overall depth and flexibility lately so did some today, only went to 100kg, and after did some trap-bar deads standing on a platform, super-setted with step ups (onto box jump box)

Heart rate well and truly up then!

Some work on my shoulders, again, alot of flexibility, stability stuff but def feel it working.

Good 15 on the bag to finish (had some time on the foam roller on my scapula area a few times during the time too)

Weight loss has slowed again, sitting in the high 96 low 97 now, but given the work I'm doing and intake, I gotta be losing some fat (stuff round the middle is tough to shift, but can see it is moving) wife said I stopped snoring, so thats a good thing haha

was meant to hit deads today in one last volume sesh before trying to beat my PB before NY...but my glutes and hammies were still singing after fucking reverse lunges on Saturday so was a light round of defecit deads.

Really liking time on the bag to finish my workouts though, if I wasnt sweating already, this just finishes me off.

Even not hitting it hard but just some fast combos for 10-20 seconds is killer.

                did some dead volume yesterday, 5 x 100, 5 x 140, 2 x 160, 5 x 140, 5 x 140, 5 x 100

I wasnt feeling particularily energetic yesterday and the 2 at 160 were a battle, so unsure how I'm gonna add >15 to beat my PB...but anyway.

Weighed in 96.7 this morning, been a battle to get below 96 though!

@mn5 my goal is 95, and Dr said I need to maintain weight for 12 weeks and then go back for bloods...

3.5 months to lose 5kg, pretty slow by my usual standards, but high protein diet making it slower, but if I do it slower I am likely to keep off longer rather than dropping 5kg in a month.

Tried to hit deadlift PB today, but my warm up sets of 100kg and then 140kg felt heavy af, struggled to push through a double of 160, so after that I was battling and didnt hit my PB or surpass it.

Other than that, smashed out a good work out today and felt bloody good.

Been doing alot of farmers walks with the trap/hex bar, and at end of walk finish with shrugs, Forearms are singing after that too.

this was post Xmas, pre NY (although I think I weighed that on NYD too...anywhoo, 95.3kg this morning, under the Dr goal, 300g over my goal.

Feel I am in pretty good shape at the moment, moved my focus from lifting heavy to just lifting good weights with the best movement and added some mobility stuff as well, def feel the benefit of that.

Played 2 rounds of golf the past few weeks, hit the ball as good as I have for decades, and one round was only 3 over par, and that included a triple bogey, so was stoked AF with that, first time in probably 5 years I have completed full 18 holes (as opposed to ambrose)

It made me think about getting back into golf, but mentally, I just dont think it cuts it right now, and I also know how fickle the game is, even when I was 'good'.

Today I hit my goal weight of 95kg (actually 94.7)

So pretty stoked about that, 6.3kg lost in a shade under 4 months, which as I have mentioned before, is a farking long time for me, can usually drop 3 or 4 kgs in a month...but I've never tried dropping the weight while going to the gym and eating a high protein diet while remaining in calorie defecit.

Now will be the interesting part of trying to maintain my weight now without dropping more or gaining again.

Been doing wide grip paused deadlifts, pausing on way up, and then down doing a straight leg paused dead as well.

Is great, really feel it working so many muscles.

Maintained my weight since last update, hovering around 94-95kg

holy shit the humidity is insane at the moment, it is 30 deg and 100% humidity, sweat just pouring off me!

                                  But gotta be keeping on!

Tried these yesterday and highlighted an issue I hadnt noticed before in the mirror where my left knee was turning in when I went down, so I got a medium resistance band and put it on the rack pulling the knee outward, on the left knee (one I have had surgery on and was turning in) when I had the band I could certainly feel my glutes and hip flexors engaging more (as they should I expect, but havent been able to?0

despite being more relaxed with calorie counting and sneaking to odd snack a bit more, I have dropped down to 92.8kg, meaning I have lost over 8kg since I started looking at losing weight back in late September, where my initial goal weight was 96kg.

I think I am pretty comfortable where I am, given my protein intake and what I am eating, I think it still has to be mostly fat I am shedding (looking to get body scan next month) so might look at increasing my intake slightly to ensure I dont keep dropping weight.

Been adding some Skipping to my workout...

But my efforts look nothing like this...yet 😅

This asian lady next door skips hard out. Think started during the first lockdown and hasn't given it up.

Out there pretty much every night for at least an hour. Seems to do about 30mins of standard skipping then all sorts of random variations come in

@jk yeah Lauren (form the clip above) said she started in lockdown in 2020 (I think) she has tutorials as well, all pretty impressive, my calves are still tight from Sundays skipping!
