Poogatch finishes the broadcast by saying an early red means only Ireland can top France. What a knob.

@nzzp England were against the 20 min RC weren't they?

    they really were.

Also, just wached a video of it. It's Red under the current framework all day. Ryan did nothing wrong, Ewels was way too high. Accidental or not, it's like arms being up there - you run the risk.

Yeah my only gripe is the actual hit was shoulder just below shoulder, but the position of both meant head hit head after that.

yep, understand. But the onus is on the tackler to avoid head contact, so under the framework that's irrelevant.

This seems to be the current framework from March 2021. The IRB website is still loading, and it seems far less detailed or useful than prevoius frameworks. I'd note that the previous frameworks divided into contact from the Tackler's Shoulder or Head, and the Arm. So head impact treated the same as shoulder impact.

Agreed re RC under current laws. Also a 20 min fan.

Raynal scrum penalty count against Ireland was ridiculous. On Spider Cam view it was obvious English loosehead was taking the piss. Not to mention the no 11 “flanker” behind him… his hip was a metre from his hooker all night basically..🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂ And not word from TMO to correct him. Against Tadhg too…who I battle to not comfortably see as the best tighthead in the world currently…wtf… Piss poor reffing

I was really hoping that Ireland would have run away with this game to provide an incentive to look at the red card situation for anything other than obvious foul play. They made hard work of it, but credit to England for hanging in there for 70 mins.

No complaints on the red card, thems the rules whether they seem sensible or not. I was reading in the Telegraph today the rationale for Ewels being picked and apparently it was for his rugby intelligence and decision making… Best England performance thus far with some vey good performances. Itoje, Randal, Smith, Simmonds, Marchant and Genge.

Can we do a number on France? Yeah I think so based on today.

@catogrande I can't see it, France's attack is nowhere near as poor as Ireland's (despite the typical mercurial display last night).

Wales I think showed how to nullify the French game plan, added to that I feel we have a bit more physicality, which might make a difference. Can we? Yes. Will we? Not so sure.

Yeah England coped ok when it was just JGP offering an attack, not so sure they'll be able to hold as well with the French inside attack.

Well, I’d hope we keep 15 men in the field for mor than 82 seconds and maybe compete for possession a bit more!

It was proven today that more locks and blindsides in the loose trio is the answer.

Not sure what your point is?? Can’t recall NZ ever doing a 50/22 but stand to be corrected. Conways effort today was top drawer.

Point being, I’m pretty sure that they might have considered the idea of playing to the current laws. And yes Conway’s kick was great and he did another, then stuck one out on the full. It’s a cruel game sometimes.

    Jeremy Kyle. Hmmm.

They do look a little alike and are both complete fluffybunnies. I don’t know which one I would like to kick in the face first, but I do know it would be unlikely that I would tire of trying.
