@Bovidae do you think the chiefs will soon settle on a fullback for the remainder of the season?

Who knows.
They haven't listened to me yet and selected Stevenson (when fit).
He ticks all of the boxes you need for a fullback. -
Rebels (1-15): Matt Gibbon, Jordan Uelese, Pone Fa’amausili, Matt Philip, Josh Hill, Michael Wells (c), Brad Wilkin, Rob Leota, James Tuttle, Carter Gordon, Glen Vaihu, Stacey Ili, Andrew Kellaway, George Worth, Reece Hodge.
Reserves: James Hanson, Cameron Orr, Cabous Eloff, Josh Canham, Richard Hardwick, Joe Powell, Nick Jooste, Lukas Ripley.

So I'm an idiot. I'm heading down to Melbourne for work Monday morning. If I'd checked the schedule I would have known this game was on and could have gone down a day earlier.
Could have been a good weekend of watching as I'm going to MP v Drua this weekend.

Referee: Reuben Keane
Assistant Ref 1: Graham Cooper
Assistant Ref 2: James Palmer
TMO: Oli Kellett -
So with the news on the injured players I don't expect any changes in the forwards.
The best backline then would be:
Weber
Ioane
ENS
Tupaea
Nankivell
Lowe
Narawa (I wouldn't mind Reihana given an opportunity)This post is deleted! -

Narawa (I wouldn't mind Reihana given an opportunity)@Bovidae Wrampling & Pohipi are two youngsters with massive potential.

Who do you reckon are 2 chiefs players with massive potential?
-
Chiefs
Aidan Ross, Samisoni Taukei'aho, Angus Ta'avao, Josh Lord, Naitoa Ah Kuoi, Samipeni Finau, Sam Cane (co-c), Luke Jacobson, Brad Weber (co-c), Josh Ioane, Etene Nanai-Seturo, Quinn Tupaea, Rameka Pohipi, Emoni Narawa, Kaleb Trask
Reserves: Tyrone Thompson, Ollie Norris, Atu Moli, Pita Gus Sowakula, Mitch Brown, Xavier Roe, Rivez Reihana, Inga Finau

<Groan> Again, I really have to question some of McMillan's selections.
I assume that Vaa'i will be on his AB rest.

I find it very funny how some players get a million chances (Trask) and others get hardly any.
@gt12 if only the blonde wizard from southland wasn't in japan.. bring back Robbie Robinson I say!

@Yeahtheboys Wrampling Mcwhannell Dyer Norris Finau Roe Ratima and Narawa all have big upside from what I have seen. Thompson and Reihana most likely too. Chiefs are lucky to have so many who are developing like this.
-
@Bovidae can't get the preference for Trask over Reihana at 15. Trask is more of a 10 anyway.
-
Reihana had that brief cameo when Gatland went to get stitched up and made a very quick impression.
From an outside observer it does seem funny that he hasn’t had a decent chance.
Apart from that I’m ok with the team. Not our number one selection but a good team for the Rebels -
Team confirmed as above.
https://www.chiefs.co.nz/news-item/gallagher-chiefs-named-to-face-rebels-in-melbourne
Unavailable for selection:
Brodie Retallick, Laghlan McWhannell, Shaun Stevenson
Season ending: Reuben O’Neill, Simon Parker, Sione Mafileo, Anton Lienert-Brown -
And McMillan confirms there is some rotation in team selection. Retallick is back training so likely to return next weekend.
“There’s just a need to give some guys some minutes to try get our whole squad to a place where we’re fit and firing for a quarterfinal,”

That logic works well for me. So many injuries creating so many chances for player development.
... Māori ... AB rest?
