@Asterik6 the Hurricanes arenโ€™t very good at updating player details etc. I think he was 107kg when he first came on the scene so that heavier weight is probably accurate. Iโ€™ve also seen him at 1.95m, not 1.90 which is probably more accurate aswell.

Most sites list him at 1.90. That seems about right to me. The Cnaes are now terrible at keeping their site up to date. A number of players have no weight and height stats. Annoying and its just one indication of a lack of management and board quality at the Canes

When standing next to Lomax, Blackwell looks marginally shorter. He surely must be closer to 1.90 m than to 1.95 m IMO. Anyway, this Canes forward pack is probably the smallest of the competition. Its average height is well under 1.90 m.

@cgrant who knows, the Wellington Lions site has him at 1.97m, 122kg. That is definitely bonkers.

I'm going to look closely on Saturday because I don't think he's shorter than Lomax. I don't think he's 1.90m because I'm 1.89m and he's definitely a good 4 cm's taller than I am when I watched him play for Petone a couple years back. Let's say 1.93m and be done with it. ๐Ÿ˜„ Still too short for a Super Rugby lock IMO.

            Hurricanes media release:

Unavailable for selection: Devan Flanders, Pepesana Patafilo, Dominic Bird, Tyler Laubscher, Bailyn Sullivan

            https://www.hurricanes.co.nz/news/article/tj-perenara-to-make-150th-appearance-for-the-hurricanes-in-quarter-final/

TK Howden or Delany should be starting at 6, there's no size or height in the loose combo, Savea, Kirifi, Gibson are all sub 103kg & 187cm. I'd have 115kg Delany at 6, opening up a place for Sangster on the bench. Gibson or Kirifi out of the 23 altogether. The Brumbies are going to eat this lightweight Hurricanes pack alive.

If the Canes tight-five can do the job it will give our more athletic loosies & also the backs a good platform to work from.

A lot of these player height/weight stats tend to feel wrong on the net.

Maybe hard with those lightweight LFs on a cold Canberra night. I donโ€™t think Holland has done you any favours with the forward selections.
                Sangster instead of Blackwell
                Lose instead of Gibson
Pareke - Stones starting would be better.
And were is Sullivan one of your best players this season

Reckon it depends how well our tight-five go - even their bigger loosies won't perform well if their tight-five doesn't do the job... yeah, Holland just doesn't have the insight to select our best 15.

Tell you what being a player in the Canes must be very frustrating you play a blinder and next 3 weeks you are not in the 23.

That's for sure... not much fun for a Canes supporter either

I feel for you mate I sat through the Todd Blackadder coaching years.

Has an Australian rugby game ever started on time?

That's a great kick from Jordie. Brumbies will be loathe to give away any penalties in their half now.
