"I’m told he was the best trainer last Thursday."
It's the Ozzie rugby way, winning on the training gound.
Only there, but at least they won something
@Machpants in fairness Valetini has been playing the house down this season but yeah Doran writes some rubbish at times.

I expect that the honest review on Monday after that average performance will have them wanting to put in a much improved effort.
I think they'll munt the Brumbies. 20+

@Stargazer hope sapsford goes well

I hope so.
So much depends on the ref. The Brumbies were the most cynical team at the ruck I saw - just flooded it, and figured the ref wouldn't ping every time. It kinda worked, too.
Blues should get to 30, Brumbies should struggle to get to 20. But knockout footy's a funny game

My favourite Blues v Brumbies moments. Rupeni back in 2003. Shame about the shitty video quality

@Duluth that pickup for try three is pure class
In terms of just pure entertainment, my favourite super rugby try.
His try against Scotland at the World Cup was even better

What happened to cheer leaders
I don't think the organisation saw them as popular with fans.....

Another old Blues v Brumbies match
This one is from 2012. The Blues had a horror run with injuries (I remember something like 11 locks injured?). So the season was a disaster. This game was about the Brumbies building momentum into the playoffs there wasn't even a question that they wouldn't make it
The Blues injuries had eased slightly by this stage of the season and Piutau was in great form.

@Duluth Kurtis Haiu getting cancer was a real bummer. So was Hobbs' run of injuries.
Did Luatua make his debut in that game?
-
Hope the Blues win... then we will have two teams that will play positive rugby when it's on to do so in the final, whether that's against the Crusaders or Chiefs.

@Duluth odd to do the locks the way they have!!
Woulda thought starting Luke with Josh would be the way to go, or maybe they just think Ofa was the issue last week, not the guys pushing him?

They seem to like finishing with Romano?
My concerns are a lack of obvious openside cover (Akira probably plays 7 if Choat gets injured).
Also I'm a little nervous about Tua on the bench. Unfortunately there's no other choice with Plummer, Heem, Tele'a & Evans injured who all would've been on the bench ahead of him
