I think we're all old enough that losing finals to Canterbury has been a consistent part of the life of a Lions fan. Let's hope these boys can flip that around and replicate the 2000 team.

Anyone heard news about the Canterbury side? I wonder if they are waiting on a few players to be given the all clear? Seems to be very late in the week to be announcing a team for a final.

Well doen to Asafo on his call-up. And credit to the NZRU for this below. It would have been so bad if they had withdrawn Aumua
Hope Asafo (and TJ who missed out to Weber) are not in any way distracted by it all.
Aumua will contest Saturday's NPC final between Wellington and Canterbury, before joining the tour group as cover for veteran hooker Dane Coles, who continues to nurse a long-term calf injury.
