<p>Bingo. With the Tahs pack, the gameplan is pretty simple but effective; bend the line, draw in defenders and then spread it wide with pace. When executed well we're very difficult to stop. A number of times last night our execution let us down at just the wrong time.</p>

<p>For all the TMO gets involved, the trip on Kellaway should have been a YC, the neck roll/ face pull on Foley should have been more harshly dealt with and Pollock should have sent Coles from the field to clam down. No way I'd accept a captain speaking to me like that.</p>

<p>If we're talking about the same incident (Tahs guy kicks over the top, Canes forward turns his back but moves into his path) I thought a penalty would have been understandable, the Foley one was odd because Barrett was the primary tackler but the guy who actually did the facial was the fatty who was behind BB, which could be his only defence. On the other side Foley falling into the tackle of the Canes MF that earned a YC was a little harsh I reckon. Good on Foley to recover from a near concussion to slot the penalty though ;)</p> -
In a sport where there are contentious decisions every minute if you look hard enough, contentious stuff in the background all the time if you're looking for it, and where your national and state teams are struggling often. How on earth can it be beneficial for the sport, in a market as competitive as Australia's, to put a whining bore in the commentary box to piss in the collective cornflakes and drag everyone down into his misery.<br><br>
Baffling, no wonder rugby will struggle in Australia with that level of lack of common sense. <br><br>
It's sport, it's supposed to be fun. Even if you're not winning its at least not supposed to be complete misery. -

<p>It was a trip but he was never going to get to the ball. Plus he would have run into the prop who was not obstructing anyway. About facewashing and off the ball stuff the Tahs take the cake. </p> -

<p>Actually the replays at the ground took about two minutes to even find anything wrong. Once it established Skelton launched into a bloke on the deck, a few around me people muttered "idiot" and then it went back for the scrum anyway.</p>

<p>Were they expected to boo their own player? I find most crowds will shut the fuck up when they see something wrong on the big screen (if they see it at all!) because they're waiting to see if they dodged a bullet.</p>

<p>Completely irrelevant - a player has obstructed another player coming through, and deliberately stuck his leg out. That's a foot trip and, in a lot of cases, a straight red card. The fact that it wasn't penalised at all is quite amazing given the home OB director gave the officials every chance to see it :)</p> -
<p>Skelton's just one big lazy thug. I remember he got away with trying to rip McCaw's head off on a few occasions when the Waratahs played the Crusaders last year!!</p>

<p>Fair play - he's not JUST a big lazy thug. He does have good hands for the offload and is one of the best players I've seen at disrupting mauls.</p>

<p>Yep absolutely. I haven't heard the comms or the ref's mike, just seen replays at the ground from waaaaaay up in the stands opposite the comm boxes. And it looked dodgy as fuck.</p>

<p>So it comes down to the discussion the officials are having, which I haven't been privy to. I suppose they're only going for red when the guidelines give them no choice. </p>
