Great try from Gilbert. IMO he's been good.
He did miss some important tackles.

I say once more...
... enjoyable game if footy.
Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

Yeah, better defence and that could have been one for the ages

Great counter-attacking from Chiefs. Thought several players had a shoddy match despite the score. Slater and Sowakula were error prone as was Vaai who needs a rest. And what was up with Ratima when he came on? Seemed slow and indecisive.
But the backs took their opportunities and Jacobson Cane Ah Kuoi and the front row did the hard yards. The pick and go's worked a treat when tacklers kept being slow to roll away and defenders fanned out.
Weber was my mom. Narawa and Stevenson looking every inch international class again. DMac was very controlled tonite and 8 from 8 will have helped his kicking %.
Thought De Groot and Smith were a class above for Highlanders while the starting loosies were very good too.

I was surprised that Lord replaced Ah Kuoi as I would have subbed Vaa'i. Agree about Slater and PGS.

A very late sub so maybe an injury niggle.
Weber was my mom.
Weber's passing early was very laboured and inaccurate. He got much better.

On BOK, while I agree that he is NZ's best ref (hardly praise) how did he not penalise the Highlanders for being offside from some of those Smith box kicks that went almost straight up? I remember the Chiefs being penalised recently when Weber did exactly the same thing.

Not seeing Vaa'i as a future lock for the ABs at this stage.
Seems lightweight in the collision and lacks mongrel. -

I said future lock - I think he has been promoted too soon.

@Frank I know he's returning from injury, but I would like to see more of Lord. Seems like he's bulked up a fair bit too.
-
Great impact from Fakatava. Maybe brought on a bit too late? He's definitely returning to form.

Why must you incessantly talk up any Super Rugby player who hails from the Hawkes Bay? Your bias is mental.

@Frank I can write my opinion when I want to. Deal with it! It being a minority opinion doesn't make it more fluffing than when you read most other threads where posters say something positive about a player. I'm passionate about my team and players. I also rather look at the positives than the negatives (if present). You should try it sometimes. Much better than the constant moaning on the Fern by a bunch of GOM.

@Stargazer Bag on , I another that can't just see the negatives all the time. And if I like things about my favourite players/teams etc etc, I will also tell people!

Nah, being a GOM is way more fun.
