Waikato v Taranaki

@Stargazer when you consider their roster , if you were a Waikato supporter you have to be very disappointed.
Full credit to Taranaki 4 from 4 and top of the log -
Who's the comments guy? Referring to the ref as Dan "Wanger"..surely someone's put him up to that!
Taranaki look the real deal this year. Making up for last years shocker..
@J77 Isaac Boss , fair to say he struggled

@J77 the replacement lock for Taranaki Fiti Sa is a monster , loan player from Canterbury 2.03m 124kgs , only 20 reminds me of Kali Vaipulu very similar in stature and age
-
Very disappointed with Waikato. Poor goalkicking from Kemara was again a real momentum loser. Far too many errors in the backs. Can they please start Roe as he seems much sharper than Cortez. And I hope Mitch Jacobson is back too as his leadership is missed.
Full credit to Taranaki for taking their chances. -

I think Fiti Sa is now maybe on a Chiefs development contract and not a loan player from Canterbury anymore.

So Quinn Tupaea looked good.
Fuck that Strayan arsehole who smashed his knee.

A very flat performance. You can't win games when you lose so many lineouts from poor throwing, and gift tries to the opposition from basic errors. When it looked like Waikato would get themselves back into the game they would concede a quick try.
As I've said before Waikato is sorely needing some size and x-factor in the back three. Sullivan was playing out of position, but he along with LCF and Sinkinson were very poor. The one big plus was Quinn Tupaea's performance in the 2nd half.

Mate exactly what I was thinking!!! Geez he reminded me what we missed with him being out for the last year, I know it only NPC, but by geez he looked bloody good without overplaying hand!
-
@Bovidae yes agree that Quinn Tupaea was a big plus. Thought Kemara lost confidence in his all round game today. Sullivan does some things but lacks finishing polish.
@ARHS I think they need to leave Sullivan on the wing and stop moving him back and forwards from centre. I can see him potentially grabbing the 14 jersey for the Canes next year so hopefully he continues to improve.
Naholo looked impressive and seems to be gaining confidence. Again, hopefully he continues that form and nails down the 11 jersey at Super level.

When Waikato won the NPC title in 2021 the midfield was Wrampling and Sullivan. Obviously neither ALB or Tupaea were available because of AB commitments. Sullivan is a much better centre than a winger but in the current Waikato team there are more options/depth in the midfield, so to get all of them on the field he'll probably play on the right wing.
I'd like to see more of Nordstrom too.
