We seem to be debating whether BB would be the greatest 10 currently for the ABs versus Cruden when perhaps Shag is debating whether - for the team - BB is better at starting 10 or than BB at 2nd half FB/Wing/10

In hindsight with the Highlanders game now done, probably a good thing the Canes won from an NZ point of view. The Chiefs now getting back on a plane for South Africa would have been a bridge too far...

Demoting or dropping Cruden now without a severe dip in his own form would be very unlike this selection panel.

Barrett demands a greater role, but I don't see why it has to be at 10, many of the plays he made could easily be made at fullback. Ben Smith can move to the wing most likely in the most simplest move or centre if issues persist there for something more complicated.

If Barrett is the long term starting 10 that would be the best possible thing for McKenzie. Much like how Evans always started with MacDonald or McAlister in the starting side - Barrett will need someone who can manage the position if he goes down in the first 10 minutes - but also provides a genuine option in another position. McKenzie is the only one like that on the horizon. Cruden would be toast.

He's on fire in every way and it's showing, and we are playing with a far greater focus and intensity which Boyd and Plumtree should take some credit for

Good try saving defence by D Mac on TJP on that Savea break out. Coincidentally only a minute after TJP taking D Mav into touch a metre from the Line.

But also worth pointing out it was awfully rugby technical instincts by TJP to tuck the ball under his left arm when the only defender is 2 metres off our left shoulder. Savea unmarked on his right, great ball and all tackle. Bombed a try but canes still got a 3 from that position.

I don't think there was much in that - of course in the game I would have been howling at the ref to bin him but Gardiner (my favourite ref) seemed to have left his cards in the changing sheds in the first half.
