Banks, and Inisi in the 2nd half, have been really good for Harbour.

As i said at half time, handling and options were poor...theynhave cost us the game: Goodhue with that pull, Hape going on a 2m blidside, then about 4 handling errors the lastb5.mins

what an odd game....plenty to like about our play, but more to dislike.

Several players made hugely costly errors, none moreso than Goodhue, who had played pretty well until that pull on Gatlands jersey, potentially cost the game, but at least a BP.

Many players had patches of good, but also patches of less good...Milo-Harris, played well for most of his time, but made a couple of costly errors, but then his replacement made a poor decision to take a 2m blind that was picked off and NH almost went 80m...our defence in patches was not good enough, highlighted in the last quarter, I'd put alot onto fatigue, as it was a pretty fast game.

Trainor was handy, although he hobbled off, so hope it isnt anything bad, liked Letoga, made some good metres in contact and post contact, blip being penalised when he released his grip in the maul.

Matich probably pick of our loosies, good to see a stable scrum too, our ruck protection in the 1st half and handling throughout was very costly.

Must be said, that is a bloody good NH side, that pack is pretty big, lead from the front by Suafua.

edit - thought the ref was pretty good, well, consistent in what he let both sides away with.

dont forget to vote in poll

That disallowed try for Murray changed the game. Definitely a pull on the shirt but any other stage of the game that doesn't get penalised. Brain explosion from Goodhue and milked big time by Garland because he knew shirt pull or not he wasn't catching him. We score then I reckon result would've been different

Letoga looked promising coming off the bench - definitely brings some physical ball carrying that none of our other loosies bring.

Not sure why they took Milo Harris off so early. Definitely lose a bit when he goes off.

Expected more from Trainor. On that performance we would be better off getting Tama Anderson more experience. His missed tackle on Stevenson in the first half was an absolute shocker.

I watched the extended highlights of this while waiting for the Ireland v Tonga highlights to be uploaded to Stan. Was fun to watch.

Goodhue's holding back was dumb, plus until they said his name given the speed he was running at while chasing and his size I initially thought he was a prop.

@taniwharugby this was a game I really struggled with.

All of our players were just so dumb on occasion. Matt Letoga is big but for me just looks so slow his power play was just not effective - we really need power players like him and CTC to lose weight ( out for a long time now ) and get fit, so that they are 60 minute players not 20 minute players. On the positive side we look good with ball in hand and Jack’s distribution options put players in space. We clicked for 15 mins and looked really good.

If there is one thing I do at training this week it would be shoulder tackles, leg tackles - the arms tackles were allowing their players to run around us. Jordan Olsen’s miss towards the end opened the flood gates. Disappointing from a quality player.

Which brings me to another point - Tamiti Tua has come back for the Brumbies as a crash and bash player. We want him to step, hit soft shoulders and distribute. Coaches need to be working with him.

Flush the dunny and be optimistic for next week.

@kev yeah I mentioned last week that I thought Letoga needed to get fit to move up to this level.

@kev we had small glimpse of what we can do to any team in this comp when we get it right, problem is we lose all concentration and connection way too frequently. Lots of players are trying way too much on their own and becoming individuals. That only invites all the simple mistakes we are seeing.
The handling errors, decision making, ball protection at rucks, stupid brain fades (goodhue) and soft defence were all evident yesterday, as they have been in all bar two matches this season.

As TJ said in commentary, we have a highly talented team, we're just our own worst enemies at times.

We have a solid foundation, but we need a shit tonne of maintenance required to get this unit up to speed on a consistent basis.

On the balance of probabilities with what I've seen this year we will likely pull finger against BOP this weekend, especially since it's at home. BOP will be a big challenge though, as I put them ahead of Hawkes Bay and Ta$man in the pecking order, albeit slightly.

This is the bit for me. What we have seen with Andrew Webster for the Warriors is a smart coach build a game plan, get in the heads of his players, succeed. I think we some great players, some emerging talent, so with some quality systems, and a great coach we can go to the next level.
