What I'm saying is that on the off chance that Namibia or Zimbabwe produces a world class player, he'll probably play for the Boks.

    Or Australia. Gregan was half-Zimbabwean.

    And 100% Zambian.

    David Pocock however was Zimbabwean.

The majority of the Namibian squad plays rugby outside of Namibia, but not necessarily at the highest level. A couple for Top 14 teams in France and Hardwick for the Rebels being the exceptions.

Not sure his current passport status. Do think he is no longer playing.

So he's no longer half-Zimbabwean because he stopped playing?

In terms of being a rugby player/Wallaby/playing for teams other than his country of birth or country he was eligible for I used the past tense, am happy to use the present tense if that can set your mind at ease.

SA no longer has star player Marx, famous for his invisible bridging at rucks, France may not have playmaker Dupont, and NZ does not have its closest equivalent, winger in slow-mo, George Bridge. For France and NZ, is it now a bridge too far?

    Bugger.

Anyone know how long a facial fracture takes to heal enough to play rugby?

that is an interesting question, seems to vary markedly

    Treating Facial Fractures

    Treating Facial Fractures

Facial fractures (broken bones in your face) can be minor or complex and can happen in many ways.

those side effects could complicate things as well..

@Victor-Meldrew All I know is that it depends on whether it requires surgery or not. They have to wait until the swelling is gone before they know how bad it is.

Seen a few comments supposedly out of the French camp this morning suggesting it doesn’t require surgery. Expecting him to be out until at least the semi.

Some have come back to the next weekend, obviously no reason to risk that. But could be there for the quarters, but then again "Dupont will see a specialist to determine what grade the fracture is, but early estimates are that he is looking at between four and six weeks out."

I had a faecal fracture this morning. Not overly painful, but a bit disappointing.

@Dodge According to media reports from less than 2 hours ago, there is a recent update from the French Federation saying that they (the doctors in the hospital) can't say until the swelling has significantly reduced whether he needs surgery or not.

Hopefully the same doesn't apply to @scribe. Kia Kaha buddy.
