If Jonker wanted to, I’m sure he could find something similar in that maul to penalize France.

What a load of shit - I now hate France more than Ireland and England.
No TMO intervention to look at the maul .. something smells
I have had enough I am not watching anymore of this match - its a farce and the fluffy commentators are treating it like champagne rugby.... hope there are considerable French tears in the finals

@bayimports I guess the issue there is, the TMO is there to rule on foul play, he saw somethign worthy of foul play, pretty sure he wanted a card, so I guess thats what he is there for?
Problem is, he was wrong.

@taniwharugby not odd at all. They’ve been doing it since the beginning of the World Cup. Dupont is the greatest player ever seen and France are the anointed champions (unless there’s an Irishman in the studio). All a bit nauseating.

@Victor-Meldrew to them, it is either this or whopping lawsuits. So we get this. And it is making it difficult to keep watching. But I’m sure there are thousands more new viewers/participants waiting in the wings to watch/play this version of the game.

Really was quite a sensational decision to overrule the try. The TMO was 100% going to go back as far as he could to find any sort of infringement. Wouldn't mind but France were offside about 5 times in the preceding phases and entered 2 rucks from miles offside.

It's not just the inconsistency of the penalty/card decisions, it's the randomness of the TMO intervention which makes the whole thing a bloody lottery.
