@mooshld Crowley said that in an interview, although with a wry smile, so who knows if he did or not

Jelonch on the Italian 23. Shoulder went up on his jaw from what I saw.

I cannot get over the amount of illegal crap the French get away with. More offside than SA, taking tacklers out off the ball and beyond the ruck like Ireland and NZ, more flopping over rucks than anyone out there.

And my pet peeve is when they put hands on the ball for a split second to slow the ball down at the breakdown, then raise their hands to say “not guilty”. I just don’t get how they don’t get penalised more.

In saying that, they have some fantastic, powerful rugby players and Jalibert is a gem of a fly half.

Bs referee again these English refs are ruining the game along with Jonkers who a is blight on the game.

The France have some impressive players
Jalibert was very good at first five, and the no.8 is a beast Alldrit the 6 Jelonch was also impressive.

Dickson and Carley have no feel for the game.

Especially damning as Dickson is an ex-pro player

Amen. Saw the ref the other day was Barnes and thought “bugger”, then spotted Carley on the sideline and thought “fuck”. Discovered the TMO was bonkers Jonkers and went and did something else.

Wondered whether it was just me not liking refs, but struggled to think of others that I really disliked. Only came up with Dickenson (there will be a few others), but over decades that’s not bad. Could think of loads of good ones. Quite few good Saffas. Bonkers the only standout dickhead.

The English seem to have a school of pedantry rather than pragmatism, and makes rugby a tough watch.

I realise the levels of angst toward Barnes are (unreasonably) high among Kiwi fans, but he's actually about the best ref going around at the moment.

sounds like bailing on the 2nd 40 was the best idea.

So disappointing really, the French have class all over and dont need the assistance they got, while the Italians showed some nice touches, but were getting reemed by the ref.

Sure they were never gonna get close, but poor officiating doesnt help.

Yeah agreed Barnes has improved heaps, I would rate him no.1 atm.

Reading through this thread I am happy I didn't see the game. It sounds like Jonker the Plonker was at his best again.

You can bet he'll be the TMO in the big games.

is good reading how awesome France were in that match, yet we almost hit the ton and it was because Italy was shite.

I think they, like us wont have benefitted much from the past 2 weeks of pool play as they head into a likely match up with SA.

This thread should be required reading for World Rugby.

Barely a mention of the actual game after that horrendous TMO interference.

his communication is very clear and doesn't seem to get rattled often, but in 2007 he really should have gone to Refsavers.

What has happened to Italy between the 6 Nations and now?

They didn't reappoint Crowley and decided to appoint another head coach for after the RWC, despite Italy improving significantly under Crowley.

Fuck the French looked good. Think who ever they play could be in trouble. Will have to C the out come of tomorrow but SA could be done and unless either we or the Paddies step up big time they will go all the way. They are one well drilled outfit 4 sure. Just my 2 cents worth. BTW love Crowley, yes they should keep him !!
