No, but you can imagine a context where "wit kant" could be used - e.g, having a pop after contesting a breakdown - "You're the white side/jou die wit kant"

To me this just seems a convenient cover-up. I don't speak Afrikaans of course, but at least as an English translation this makes zero sense. It also depends on the context of course, what words were said around it.

Yeah, for me it either happened or it didn't. The lost in translation thing doesn't make any sense in this case.

The conversation with the ref happened as a Farrell was lining up a pen around 23 minutes after kicking away advantage. In the play before Bongi tackles Curry. As they are both on the floor with the ball now gone they both get up slowly and either did or didn't exchange words. The two don't come together at any time in the previous plays since the last Bok score. There was never a situation where Bongi saying 'white side' would make sense.

Really not a lot to be gained from making a circus of it though, so hopefully it dies a death. It's he said, she said and I'd guess Curry won't really want any part of it post game.

I think Curry was probably more so making the point about if the boot was on the other foot... truth be told, I don't think he would really care that much, but it is about the premise of the allegations.

Absolute dickhead behaviour from Willie Le Roux on the final whistle yesterday. Good thing BOK was there to restore order straight away or else things could have got very ugly quickly.

Every time I see Le Roux play I am baffled at how he has a single solitary cap.

@antipodean he does always seem to screw up at a critical point in the game.. usually a knock on. But he was motivating everyone in his team pretty well in this game.

Le Roux is the most overrated player in the game. The very rare moment of brilliance doesn't make up for a litany of fůck-ups and brain explosions. He also appears to be a prize wånker.

On the bongi thing: onkant, (offside) windgat (asshole) …many Afrikaans words that could easily be misinterpreted. England are famous moral high ground whiners

@Rancid-Schnitzel a bit like Farrell in that respect then. But England love “fazz” .. other teams/supporters see him as a complete jackass.

These language-related explanations are pretty weak imho. I'm generally very accepting that some bad shit can be said in the heat of battle. This isn't exactly an office environment, and these guys are doing their best to legally fůck each other up. But if they're going to throw the book at guys like Potgeiter (bundle of sticks) and Marler (Gypsy boy) then that has to apply for everyone.

@frugby well then you never understand. Wit kant mean he should stay on the white side. English jerseys are white meaning Curry should stay on side.

There will come nothing from this. Curry have a lot of Afrikaans speaking teammates at his club.

                            Relief.
That was my overwhelming emotion after that game.
I was concerned that the Boks were coming off that epic battle against France and would be flat.
And they were. They were at least 10% down on individual performance across the park.

Having said that, I give immense credit to England for blunting the Boks in almost every facet of the game - bar the scrums once Ox and Koch came on. They kicked and chased well, were excellent in the lineouts and the loose and their defence was heroic. They suffocated the Boks virtually out of the game. In the end, it was immensely unlucky and almost cruel for them to lose the game in the 78th minute.

On the (one tiny) plus side for the Boks, they showed enough character to win ugly when they really were well outplayed. I'll take that. But if that level of performance is repeated in the final we are going to see our backsides against the ABs.

I'm not saying that and you have totally ignored my final line. The key thing to note is that this whole kant explanation has come from online experts, not the Boks themselves.

Nothing will come from it, because it was he said she said, but to flat out say this is a foregone conclusion is wide of the mark.

                                  Current WR Ranking...

So you're saying they've had the perfect warm up to prepare themselves?

Compare that to the 2007 WC they won.... Argi and Fiji in knockouts... Very different. They will do well to recover and definite chance AB's can run away with it.

Good article from Stuart Barnes on England's need to score tries.
