England recycling the ball very quickly and causing Ireland problems.

Robertson should store away quick ball off the top straight out to midfield. Ireland look in difficulty.

This. Short balls to pods, Ireland will eat it up. Quick, longer ball, they were wrecked

Like many of you, I’m old enough to remember when Ireland were the best team in the world and had really gone up a level since the RWC.

I’ll tell you what actually happened: They played some mediocre teams and won easy. Warburton is a great pundit but there’s the Springboks, the ABs … and then there’s everyone else. Lot of Irish and NH people think it’s one way, but it’s the other way.

Yup. Big dollarstore security guard energy.

Pleased to see this diving bullshit go unrewarded, except to cement Furlong's reputation.

Well, that was unexpected, but very pleasant.

The Rugby or your one night stand?

A series of one night stands is just serial monogamy.

So these mediocre teams, that would include SA, NZ, Aus, France, England, Wales (I can’t bring myself to include Scotland)? Yeah some mediocre teams right there. 😂

Enjoyed watching the long highlights, still, disappointed they couldn't both lose.

Well, I have to say that I never saw this result coming. England had looked disjointed, shoddy and poorly coached this 6N, and Ireland had looked the complete opposite. There will be plenty out there saying Ireland played poorly, or they missed this / that or whatever, but that would be pretty disrectful, as frankly speaking, England simply beat them playing rugby today.

IT's worth sharing some context on my annoyance with the Irish commentator which ITV had. It was such a love in on everything, and to be honest, it rubbed over to the rest of the comms as they fawned over absolute bullshit. Some pretty basic stuff (that you'd expect at this level) was often commentated on us "world class", "thats why they're the worlds best", "champion team" etc etc. It just went on and on and on, continuously. They must have showed the 6N table commenting how Ireland were wrapping it up with a week to spare about 5 times throughout the match, whilst ass kissing them.

All this whilst England were matching them in the physical stuff, making line breaks and playing with confidence. When Ireland looked like they might have gotten to an unassailable lead, England hit back right away. Yet, about 2 mins after, the showed the table again. It was fucked up coverage.

I literally got out of my seat and cheered when Smith got that droppy. Seeing those Irish faces like smashed meat pies again, was just beautiful.

Oh, and one last dig. When England were down with about 20 to go the one eyed twat said something like "Ireland have been in this situation before when they gave the All Blacks a 13 point head start so they know how to win from here".

Err. They lost that match, mate. Just like this one. And as for "gave the All Blacks that lead" ... hmmm ... Maybe your boys are simply not as invincible as you believe. The QF was mentioned a few times as though it was almost some complete anomaly.

Having said that, they are a superb rugby team, one of the best of the last few years.

But there is a difference between being one of the best, and the best.

Andrew Strawbridge must be having a positive effect on the English attack.

Those were two cynical ruck penalties that Ireland did at the end. Mind you, Amashukeli warned the Irish player 3-4 times before he finally played advantage.

    Care is stinking it up.

Yes Ireland were offending all over the place under pressure, but they got away with it mostly, so well done

@MajorRage That Irish comms guy and to be honest, most of the Scots comms are just hyperbolic cheerleaders. That wretched Scots woman commentator actually said “Italy are hanging on to Scotlands coat tails” when it was a one score game. I did laugh when 2 minutes later Garbisi was lining up a conversion in front of the posts for the lead. Of course the fucker had to go and miss it.

    But still.
