So injury updates from that video. Rieko cleared up quickly but will have to go through the post head knock checks. Papali'i had an ankle injury, could've played on though.

@Duluth surely Reiko takes a seat for a week, he looked to be out cold and other players across the competition have been stood down for a lot less, inheriting to the current protocol. I'd be surprised if he's there on Saturday but you never know. Same with Leinert-Brown for the Chiefs.

Watched the highlights, such as they were.

Still conflicted as to how I feel about this.

Got within a couple of points of 2 NZ teams in the last two weeks.
        OR
Couldn't find a way to two home games on the last two weeks

The trip to Fiji could be a bloodbath...

There has been a massive improvement in the Tahs this season. Your seven is a menace.

@Kirwan agreed. They might not be getting the results atm but their 10 looks steady, they have a solid midfield, they have weapons at the back and they have a pack that can compete with most teams. They just need to get a string of wins on the board, definitely a top 8 team by the end of the year for me.

@KiwiMurph yeah I find it baffling and a bit poor from the Blues doctor/s if he's deemed fit to play. We've just had an article come out about Billy Guyton and the damage his brain took playing rugby so it doesn't set a good precedent if Reiko gets knocked out cold, clearly out of it leaving the field and then is all of a sudden perfectly fine. There's surely underlining damage there that would suggest he should take a week off.

I'm no expert however so if he's cleared then so be it, I just don't think it's a good look.

IIRC the situation in club rugby is a mandatory stand down, even if cleared by a doctor. I don't see why that wouldn't apply for professionals.

Because they have a huge number of pre and post protocols carried out by Drs. The point of the long stand down is you don't have that in club land so they have to just set a time. And often that time is inadequate but you're officially cleared to play

@Machpants IIRC, although this is going back some years from an article from the Blues Dr Stephen Kara (dunno if he still there...could google it I guess) it was usually 2 or 3 days before they had a better idea of things...although I guess the research has come along since then so protocols possibly changed too.

Twelve days before training or playing.

I get that the professionals have a higher degree of scrutiny but caution should be taken IMHO
