Highlanders v Hurricanes

@Canes4life Neither him or Gilbert are especially good defenders. The midfield is a massive weakness this weekend on D. Midfield depth and development is a bit of an issue for the team. We have young Te Hiwi and Whaanga. Neither look to have express pace. Whannga will be good once he fills out a bit. If we can get three or four good seasons out of Tele'a before he chases money that'll be good. Excited to see Wingham get on the paddock, big fan of the lad. I think we are quite competitve in the pack, their backs are scary.

Sounds like you have got those two mixed up? Whaanga turns 27 in May while Te Hiwi is 21.

Awesome side but odd that we have both Umaga-Jensen and Punivai on the bench. Would have preferred a first five / fullback option like Godfrey in the mixer tbh.

there are two Whaanga's, Josh is only 20 or 21 and i think looks much better than Matt

Some surprising selections

Tight 5 as expected (especially with Tucker out)

Back row. Kirifi missing out to Lakai is a surprise. As is Iose at 8. Although it was a coin toss with these positions. Lakai I rate very highly and think 7 will be his best position. And Iose has been in wonderful form so can understand why.

Starting back line was as expected. But 22 and 23 is a surprise. Why not Godfrey.

@Winger i don’t get why we need two centres on the bench. Really odd, why not give Godfrey mins off the bench if his future is going to be in the 10 jersey.

Otherwise real happy with that starting 15.

You do know Canes4life is and has been wanting Godfrey in team all year ?
You do know Godfrey is a Hawkes Bay player? I haven't noticed any Bay players getting bagged.
