Finau is a hell of a player, and that would have been amazing if he'd kept that in for that final try. But the AB coaches will need to get his love of cheap shots on smaller players out of his game, they end in cards every day if the week at test level and it'll cost us.

I wouldn't call his hit on Perenara a cheap shot
He didn't intend to head butt him

But the first Chiefs try final pass looked forward to me too so that's life
Whereas the last non try Chiefs were very unlucky. My view is the reffing is poor. Including a Chiefs players diving into a Canes player head for no reason and its not a Red card

It was clumsy, but there is a pattern of marginal hits. He's mostly on the right side of the line, but it's going to come back to haunt him sometime.

Got penalised once for smashing a 10 late. Then a lot of crying on other hits that weren't even penalties

Should go to the grumpy old man thread, but I was thinking this before - feels like more and more commentators who aren't providing smart insights.
I would love to hear from Conrad Smith, Richie McCaw - people with some game smarts and intelligence.
Early Marshall was really interesting, but we miss proper analysts.

He has a habit of lining up smaller players, especially when they are in a vulnerable position, and trying to hit them as hard as he can to rattle them. That leads to clumsy/reckless play that we saw on TJP. That could well have been a red at test level.
He needs to look at how Kaino and McCaw played (I know that's a high bar but hey). Consistently making dominant tackles often forcing mistakes without that element of recklessness.
