You're the one who keeps referencing last year FFS. Who was the coach last year?

Because we're talking about progress and direction of travel this year. Who the coach was last year is totally irrelevant

Last year we won the RC, beat SA at Ellis Park and came within a gnat's dick of winning the RWC with 14 men. Now we are expected to sing "halle-fucking-lujah, we're on a roll!", when we don't go to pieces and manage to actually score points in the second half in a home game against the 10th best team in the world.

You have lost the fucking plot. All we're suggesting is that this is an improvement on last week and you're comparing 4 years of Fozz-ball vs 7 tests of Ray Ray.

The ABs won, and probably would have won without those couple of lapses by the Wallabies, however I think this AB team is papering over cracks, and running out of glue.

      1. Your scrum got slapped around by a guy on one leg. I think perhaps you're missing a big grunter with technical nous in your second row.

      2. I thought - besides Sititi's tearing runs - your backrow got outplayed. Savea did a couple of nice things but you surely can't keep Cane on.

      3. Your defensive lineout is good. Attacking lineout generally OK but if the 10th ranked team is picking you off, the top 6N sides are going to be licking their lips.

      4. This helter-skelter bullshit in general play isn't going to cut it against top opponents with patience and cohesion. There aren't many guys in the starting 8 who are rolling up their sleeves and smashing blokes TBH. I don't think the ABs were dominant in contact as many times as the scoreline might otherwise suggest.

I think Razor needs to be a bit honest with himself and his coaching panel and get these blokes to knuckle down or fuck off.

      Agree with all of this.

I am really concerned about the EOYT particularly with your 4th point in mind.

Think about those final 38 or so phases against Ireland in the RWC that ended the game.

This iteration of the Allblacks concedes a try or gets a bloke carded after 4 or 5 of those phases.

We are all fur coat and no knickers.

We dont have bread and butter players like Kaino, or Nonu who we can just drop it off to, to make a guaranteed 4 yards and then recycle and go again. And even if we did have those players we dont have a pragmatist in the ten shirt who wont just kick it away at the first sight of pressure.

Similarly we dont have Kainos or Brad Thorns or Mealamus who dont take a backward step in defence.

Ardie for example seems to always want a judo match on D.

Remember when Read used to just bend at the hips and empty people in the midriff. Ardie wants to have a cuddle and a wrestle. For all his leg drive exploits too, I yearn for a Harry Wilson or Vermuelen type who winds up for a big carry and just plays with a bit of spite.

We lack starch on both sides of the ball, and that gets you nowhere against England Ireland and France away from home.

It was a step forward for this test no?

      against Ireland.

      We haven't played Ireland.

Read my initial post you quoted again.

And I was commenting on the bit where you refer to "this iteration".

This iteration of the Allblacks would have conceded a try or a card to Ireland in the first 4 or 5 phases of the final play of the 1/4 final against Ireland. Thats my point. They wouldnt hold out for 38 phases. They concede ground hand over fist.

This iteration of the Allblacks would have conceded a try or a card to Ireland in the first 4 or 5 phases of the final play of the 1/4 final against Ireland. Thats my point. They wouldnt hold out for 38 phases. They concede ground hand over fist.

            But they didn't this test.

The Allblacks that played today, will not cope with the physicality of Ireland, in the manner they did in the RWC 1/4 final.

Read the post of the guy I quoted , then read the first 4 lines of my post quoting him.

TLDR: The physicality shown by our current crop will not be enough against the likes of Ireland, England and France, as Australia who are powder puff, still made easy meters against us.

Dude, the Wallabies didn't score beyond the 36th minute where they held the lead for about 1 minute. We scored in the 41st somewhere after the 60th. All anyone is suggesting right now is that was an improved performance from last week considering we: won the game by 20 points, the bench was better, defence was a hell of a lot better in terms of keeping out points, we scored in the second half for the first time in 5 tests. In the tests we've lost this year we really should have won at least 2 of them given the opportunities we squandered. No one is suggesting for one minute we're going up north and pump them. But to say this wasn't an improvement from last week and hopefully a solid step in the right direction is dumb. Remember, this Wallabies side beat Argentina in Argentina and that same Argentina side beat the Springboks.

It'd be virtually fucking impossible NOT to improve on last weeks performance - probably the worst I've seen in the pro era.

                        But they didn't this test.

what are you talking about man?

                        this iternation

Solid enough. Sititi is a real find. Engine still revving in the dying minutes. Plus he has good ball skills and a step. Also steals lineout ball. Team is a work in progress. Ratima and Roigard is going to give us a great halfback pairing. Still some things to work out in selection and end of year tour going to be tough but the makings of a good team.

Players are def. improving in many positions and the newbies from the last few years like Vaai & Clarke have developed nicely along with finds like Sititi.

Mental skills aren't improving and if anything are getting flakier. That's the real concern. Get that moving in the right direction and we'll make some real progress

You have lost the fucking plot. All we're suggesting is that this is an improvement on last week and you're comparing 4 years of Fozz-ball vs 7 tests of Ray Ray.

It'd be virtually fucking impossible NOT to improve on last weeks performance - probably the worst I've seen in the pro era.

But try reading what I wrote, And then tell me things have improved in the last 12 months.

The chap is intentionally interpreting posts in the most uncharitable of fashions to buttress his fraudulent position.

What's that? That we won by 20 points? Didn't concede any from the 36th min? Scored 5 tries? Took a whole heap of pressure at the start of the game with next to no possession and territory yet still managed to lead? Out played SA for much of the two tests? Or would you rather Records Fozzie Foster back.

Bizarre tap and go move missed by the officials.

                                          Like lots of midfield moves

Some will be pinged, other won't
