Good on the Drua , they will be happy with first win. Have to be honest while I enjoyed game a bit looked like 2 teams that aren't really super level.

Just like the saders and MP!

If that's what you think, to me Crsaders and Moana Pasifika looked like 2 teams playing their first super game of year. And I not sure will get uo to super level this year, but I haven't written them off after 1 game together.

Why the hell is Carter Gordon benched?

The problem is they have a rubbish 9 (Powell).

Yo-yo-ing isn't going to help young Carter Gordon

And To'omua isn't a 10. Kills whatever attacking opportunity is left after Powell fucks around at the base

I not convinced Toomua is all that good at 10 either NTA, I really like him, (probably because I knew him as young player at my club) but have always thought he was better at 12.

Interesting tactics, whether it was the conditions or countering the rush defense, the Reds really attacked through the middle.
Salakaia-Loto and Wilson looked busy for Reds I thought.

Yeah, living outside of NZ and enthusiastically support any NZ side against "the others". Couldn't imagine doing otherwise even if it suits the teams I support more.

@taniwharugby they call the knock on dont they?

3 on 3 with a 3rd of the pitch i would often back the attacking team, but at least on of our three was Johnston (prop) so then you start thinking, is he going to try and barge over himself, does he have the quick hand to get it wide...really wish there was a wider angle

@african-monkey probably close to Goodhue’s most complete game , there’s a superb moment where he drops a subtle offload to Gerard Crowley Tuioti gets slightly checked but is still the first player to clean out 30 metres down field when GCT is tackled , if that clean out does not happen , it’s probably a penalty and Akira Ioane does not score down the left flank ..I watched Ofa Tuangafasi who was jogging along like he’s was out strolling on a Sunday afternoon and yet was in the best position to be the first to clean out ..

    @nta

He "has the full confidence of the board", so he'll likely be out before the end of the season.

I thought the Rebels played close to their maximum capability given the roster they have. The Brumbies were maybe a bit below par but that was mostly because their lineout went to shit when they lost the starting hooker early.

Rebels' Hosea is a very good, athletic lock from our U20s program who looks like he could be the goods 🤔 so it is only a matter of time before he goes to Europe. Let's hope he gets a few Wallabies Tests in before then. Young.

Damon Murphy is such a shit ref. Refused to even look at the last feet at ruck time, ignoring the Brumbies for the first 25 minutes as they repeatedly infringed. Lonergan stole about half a metre for that final kick, and that is also on Murphy being useless, regardless of the result. He also couldn't tell that the Brumbies didn't have a dominant scrum, giving them a penalty for wheeling, and letting the Ponies' 9 delay the feed too often.

I'm not sayign the Brumbies are a bad team and don't deserve to win; their midfield versus the Reds will be worth the price of adminission alone. But fuck they get a legup from the officials, and Caydern Neville is a useless niggly fuckwit.

    That was a good game.

Personally although I supported Reds ,I thought game was a little disappointing. A bit pissed that refs are missing laws of the game while trying these new variations. Much as I dislike saying it no way should our(Reds) first try of been allowed under the laws that say you can only take a ball by hand and not swim back. I hope that not coming back into our game.

If Gardner asked the other question it would’ve been a lot more simple

This was heaps of fun. I think SuperAU has really hit it's stride, five of the last six games have been crackers.

The quality has been pretty good after a slow start

The matches tend to be more of a grind than the NZ comp. So if you aren’t supporting a team I can see why some neutrals find them dull.

Maybe. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I reckon if two NZ teams produced a game like Saturday it would be lauded as 'test match intensity' by some Aussie pundits who flog themselves at anything that comes out of your place.

At least extra time worked a bit better this time

In the previous over time it was a kickfest with both sides waiting for a mistake. This time the Rebels held the ball and got a try after multiple phases
