Been loving watching the Hurricanes backs so far. Even against weaker teams they have putting on some great trys.

Messam rested, TNW at centre (eck!), Brown at 6 ahead of Seu and another reserve hooker.

Oh, and Beaver is back! 😃

Yes indeed. He had a big workrate against the Rebels but lost too many balls when tackled. It could be costly against Leitch, Cane and Co.

Dave Rennie hasn't been listening to @Stargazer . Doesn't he know some of those players are injured?

I'm guessing the TNW at centre thing is part of a game plan. ALB will need to direct things well so this is all good experience for him as well.
Will be a cracker. Chiefs have had the tougher games to get match ready off while the Canes will have gained a lot of confidence from their training runs. If it's one thing we know (because Hammetuer told us) the Canes train very well.

Canes have had cakewalks so far but they have looked really sharp. Hope they take it up a level against some proper opposition.

Son has rugby training while this is being played, so I think I might "watch" him from the clubhouse. Possibly with a beer in paw.

The Super comp might be pretty shit but I live for these kind of games.

@Crucial hasn't been reading my post well. Doesn't he know that I wrote that "hopefully some of these names can be scratched (from the then current injury list) as soon as this week's line-ups are named"?

@Stargazer doesn't realise that only half reading someone else's posts is part and parcel of contributing to the Fern.

I wish the Chiefs could play only Saturday night games. I'm running out of excuses for being late to work on Fridays (and Thursdays)

Nonu Jr has made some rookie mistakes in the 2 games so far, mainly handling errors and poor options, so I'm not surprised they've given him a spell. TNW will need to tackle well, he'll be fine with ball in hand.

It also looks like rain is forecast for Friday so that will put more onus on the forwards and the set piece.
