@antipodean discipline trumps motivation every day of the week 👍

little bit of vanity helps too

Discipline, motivation.....and also realising we’re all over 40 now so it will be tougher.

I also make sure there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t do something physical. Just today was a paperwork/tidy up day but I still did a bunch of knuckle push ups and plyometric jumps to kickstart the metabolism before lunch.

@Rancid-Schnitzel yeah if you are going down that path then what is the point? i mean i could skip every meal and have 14 stubbies and still come in under.

right now i am absolutely fanging for the shitty afternoon snack i would have had. fanging i tell you.

    but i am disciplined!!

and i only have enough calories left in my day for dinner.

Said like it's a bad thing. I'm disappointed.

I have to admit that I do this - my diet is based on me making good decisions on weekdays during the hours of the day when the sun is out, which means I can have a few glasses of wine each night and do whatever the fuck I want on the weekends.

It's awesome to see that you are putting in the effort. I'm almost motivated. Almost.

dude, that is my usual lifestyle. it slipped a bit towards the back end of the year, when i was skipping breakfast, but found myself chuffing lollies at 10:30am and the beers had gone from just the weekend to during the week a bit as well

and then i went on holiday and smashed stubbies every day

so this is a short term thing as a reset, something different, and hopefully it will shift that little bit of soft around the middle that is very hard to move in your 40s

come early March i'll revert to my previous lifestyle, hopefully with a few better habits though.

Too many beers are pretty bad.....too many craft beers are worse, there’s a reason hipster craft beer piston wristed gibbons are all bearded, checked shirt and pudgy.

I’ll have spirits and red wine more than beer these days but sessions on some IPAs are still bloody good in moderation. Plus hot day/cold beer is still a great combo.

I can’t recommend the treat/cheat day enough. Takes the edge off and you can reward yourself for being so good. Drawback of course is that you can get carried away. The next morning on the toilet can be lengthy.

Exactly me. I'm healthy as during the day. Salads, lots of water, never any sugar.

Come the evening or the weekend, its hello wine and a proper feed!!!

Is every 2nd day too frequent for a cheat day?

Aside from alcohol, i generally don't drink calories!

I don't count my calories properly, just a general idea of my consumption, expect I'll need to be more diligent to shift my last 3kg though.

It’s all about being happy and content. I do the exercise and clean eating thing because it makes me happy and feel good. It gets me through the day. It’s much much more about mental health than being ripped etc.

It’s what floats your boat. Others may get the same feeling from good food, beers, wine, good company or hobbies. To each their own.

Just don’t whinge like a little bitch when you have the power to make changes but still don’t do anything about it.

Talk about a post of two halves.

I'm a nice guy, each to their own, just try and be happy.

    Bitch.

    weekends are the challenge

people over for dinner friday. slightly over my calorie count, but only ate rotisserie chicken and salad. the 2 glasses of red pushed it over

Saturday was a pre-planned cheat day. Schooners at the races all arvo. stuck to midstrength beer in a token gesture. steak and salad for dinner. I did burn 900+ calories at F45 that morning for balance.

    Back on eating plan yesterday

But shit it's hard when you are having a lazy sunday at home. I would usually snack. and drink. and cook something awesome for dinner. I got kinda bored, and had to physically restrain myself.

Note to Self: Doing F45 on Thursday morning, playing touch Thursday night, and then F45 again Friday morning, may be over doing it on a reduced calorie diet. I was wrecked this morning.

And it may have contributed to the fact that when i jumped on teh scales this morning, the first number was a 7. first time in a very very long time. I think i need to eat more
