Looking back at some of my measurements on old spreadsheets, there are some good (if humbling) goals there:

    "Peak NTA" - 9th March 2013
    90.1kg
    Chest 107cm
    Waist 94cm
    Hips 101cm

    "Current model" - 16th June 2018
    103.4kg
    Chest 120cm
    Waist 112cm
    Hips 112cm

Good eating will get me most of the way there, along with walking, abs and bodyweight I reckon.

      Current model

I did weigh myself 8 weeks ago at a peak fatness 97.6kg (coming off an injury and winter here)
Have lost 1kg a week and now 89.5 or so.
Have been doing some hill sprints on sundays plus dips and pull ups (back on 12 strict), mid week 2 * 30 minutes spinning at nights, and eating less carbs (fewer).
      easy
will go for very toned 85kg then up the fitness even more.

I also have heart issues in family, so focus on being fit to avoid any mumurs. When not fit I have sometimes. When I do hill running repeats, I am hitting 240 HB, but after a minute it's down to 110.

      Hope this info helps you.

@wairau thanks mate. Will see what the doc says about hill sprints based on the stress testing they will do on the treadmill.

Definitely need to get my form back on the chinups as part of the body weight thing.

@nta you're welcome, I think the biggest point is the regular exercise mixed with low carbs (like, half a bowl of rice a day) while being active at work, keep it up for 3 months, and that's a loss of 10kg. Go for it.
Also, spinning at over 200 watts for 30 minutes....

Yeah, nah... Maybe I'll just get back on the bike at the point where exertion doesn't make me partially blind in the right eye. It's not healthy to get blindsided by a truck I've heard.

Been doing the odd set of 10 pushups with accurate form, to warn the body what's coming. Occasional chin ups up as well.

Diet has been more regimented, cutting out pretty much all the shit, and some of the quantity I didn't need. Those fucking chocolate covered sultanas sitting on the shelf are tempting tho...

Also back on a spoon of Black Strap Molasses and a spoon of Fish Oil every morning with breakfast. That was something I was doing last time I got fit and I reckon the extra mineral from the former and omegas from the latter are helpful. Lysine tablet wards off the cold sores, and has some side benefits for cardio function according to research.

3.2km walk this morning in a tick under 9 minutes/km. Did a little bit of jogging in there just to check everything was ok, and it seems to be.

One of the benefits of not sleeping properly is you're up early enough to get a shift in with the waking or running. The cycle of early exercise should promote better sleep patterns at night, and more alertness during the day.

Went back to the GP tonight to get the blood test results from last week.

My "bad" cholesterol (LDL) is reading 5.0 when it should be under 2.5 so that's not great for circulation or potential artery clogging.

HDL ("good" cholesterol) is just on the good side of the preferred marker.

Other than that, no indicators of further disease in any organs, diabetes, or signs of immediate heart issues based on the tests conducted.

Eating will definitely need to improve, but I reckon by Winter's end I can get back under 100kg fairly easily with diet and moderate exercise.

Did my ab exercises tonight - 10 cat vomits. It fucking hurts just lying down typing this now.

All best with it. What do you reckon HDL marker is? I know combined of 5 is OK.

@pakman Yep already on it. Also going back to oats for breakfast to start lowering LDL, as well as cutting down on the bacon and red meat a little. Physical activity is also supposed to help with LDL.

Its funny though because you read an article that says "cut out these bad foods and maybe increase your B-12 via supplement or these foods" which is a click through to an article about these foods

Click on the link and it turns out these foods are basically the things that raise your fucking LDL πŸ˜†

Walk this morning: 3.38km at 9:00 / km, after waking up just before 6 and deciding it wasn't going to rain.

Threw in a half km jog and no symptoms so that's alright. Might increase that gradually after seeing what the cardiologist says tomorrow.

Must say, I'm feeling pretty positive about this new round of fitness/weight loss. My motivation last time was to be fit enough to run around with my kids. The motivation this time is a bit more carnal πŸ˜‰ but also making sure I'm healthy enough to be around for my kids., and their kids!

@nta key to that is don't fucking read shit on the internet (except the all knowing TSF)

This article says that's good for you, next one says its bad for you...most often just good decisions will make a huge difference.

Oddly, since I been doing no exercise I have dropped 3kgs just by better choices with food...hoping to restart exercising this weekend.

I don't see how you can expend that much energy in thirty seconds.

when you are a fat fluffybunny, the effort of walking to the bed counts as well

Had the stress test. Cardiologist said he wasn't overly worried but saw what he called a "wobble" in heart function under stress.

Given the old man had a history, wants me to go get a heart CT so he can have a closer look at any plaque buildup in the coronary area, and baseline my situation so we can keep an eye on it.

Focus for me will be fixing my shitty cholesterol and getting basic activity going again.
