Weigh in Thursday morning - last week versus this week:

    Week 0: Weight 107.80kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 116cm

    Week 1: Weight 107.05kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 2: Weight 106.60kg, Chest 117cm, Waist 115cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 3: Weight 106.70kg 😐 , Chest 117cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 4: Weight 105.70kg 🙂 , Chest 117cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

    Week 5: Weight 105.45kg, Chest 116cm, Waist 114cm, Hips 115cm

Another 250g and another cm somewhere. Good thing I went for that walk.

Admittedly this week's result could have been a lot better, because my eating regime was kind of shit. Onward and upward.

Next week looking to be sub-105kg.

TBH I'm pretty chuffed with that result, given the shitty eating I've done in the last week.

With 6 weeks left in this sprint, an average 500g loss per week gets me to 101.60kg with total loss of 6.20kg over the sprint.

I'd need to go at 780g to get under the ton, which is probably not too healthy 🙂

As a last point: have scheduled in for the first part of The Greath North Walk on 31/10 - a bit over 30km from the Sydney CBD to northern suburbs.

      http://www.wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/lane-cove-national-park/sydney-to-thornleigh-via-lane-cove-tourist-park.html

Public transport at both ends, and despite a bit of elevation here and there I reckon I can daypack that in about 6 hours walking time, 7 hours total. Add an hour or so at each end for the train and we're good.

Hopefully the DJI gimbals I ordered shows up before then and I can take some nice video.

What's the shitty eating involved. Any chance of getting that under control? With that level of activity the weight will fall off if you can try to get some form of calorific deficit.

          Pub friday = 4-5 beers
Dinner Saturday = Lone Star on the spur of the moment
Dinner Monday = Thai for daughter's birthday followed by cakey goodness.

I'm a sugar fiend as stated before, so if I could trim a bit of that it is probably worth another couple of kg over a month.

Yeah that's the issue. It's important to have a life and that social aspect is crucial for most people. Good luck finding a "clean" meal at almost any place to eat out.

Steak, salad and not too many chips is always a good go to and Thai minus the cake is ok too.

@Rancid-Schnitzel @MN5 diet is interesting in the broader scheme as well.

When I was seeing the cardiologist for the hole in my heart a couple of years back, we were discussing the type of cholesterol one of my scans showed up. The doc said it was common in men my age, particularly those who lost weight in a fairly short period of time.

I reckon paleo diet is probably something to do with it - particularly the guys who go overboard on the meat and eggs and don't bring the salad along for the ride.

Indeed. Sometimes the focus on weight loss comes at the expense of other things. A good Mate of mine has lost more than 30 kilos by doing some cardio every day and staying under 2000 calories. It's an amazing effort but he's starting to look sickly, like someone who has just recovered from a long-term illness. Those 2000 calories are way too low in protein and other stuff the body likes. Hopefully he'll start to adapt but I understand it's difficult to stop when you're on a roll.

Yeah my recent heart issues were nothing to do with diet thankfully but in saying that its best to be careful. We only get one of the fuckers !

Bit of a lighter touch this week after pushing it fairly hard. Some mornings I just decided to take the rest instead of heading. What was interesting: I felt worse during the day. That might just be the fucking bullshit I've had at work lately.

Friends were over Sunday so I probably overdid the eating a little. Anyway, this was the week:

                      8d36d410-599a-4326-bafc-22109d21dbd9-image.png

The 1.73km walk was just around the local lake/pond with the wife. I got a new toy - dji Osmo 3 gimbals for mobile phone - and was testing some of the modes. Fun.

                        Week 7: Weight 104.50kg, Chest 116cm, Waist 113cm, Hips 113cm

Another 100g and 1cm from the total. Given it was a fairly lax week @ 30km, I'll take it.

Plan is ~10km walk tomorrow, rest day Saturday, then the Great North Walk Part 1 on Sunday. That should get me to 200km for October.

And this morning I managed to get away fairly early - walk to the station just before 0700.

                            Screenshot_20211031-140719.png

Didn't get time to down breakfast at Circular Quay as I ran for the ferry. I turned up at Woolwich and joined forces with a lass of similar age who had the directions on her phone (my battery was running flat from experimental video with the new gimbals). She was good company but not the quickest, so the first 6km took longer than it should have.

Started to flag a bit around the 8km mark due to lack of fuel (had snacks with me but needed more carbs). So only did 15km and called it a day.

And the 1.75km home makes 190.88km for October, with a total calorie count of 17,622 over 26 separate walks (avg 7.34km / ~680cal).

Damn shame I got lazy a week or so ago or I'd have had 200km.

                                  On to November.

The old thighs are sore right near the top - according to the diagram I just looked up, the tensor fasciae latae

Always happens after hikes, bushwalkers, etc. Just goes to show how shit desk work is.

As someone who drives for hours on end for work ( over 1000km a week sometimes ) I can’t emphasise enough the importance of stretching and mobility. Google “knees over toes” guy for some tips and go from there.

Now if you could go to my fitness thread and fix my elbow I’d appreciate it 😉
