Last km hurt a bit due to last night's squats

Bit of vision issue but recovered quickly. Might need to just keep pushing through that using moderate pace, and see if being fitter and lighter alleviates things

@MajorRage dunno. Have enough numbers in my life. HR isn't going to be that important until it reaches zero πŸ˜‰

And $500 for a watch I have to keep charging seems a little steep... πŸ€”

Just on this, in case you've never heard of DC Rainmaker, it's a great resource for product reviews, he does kit at all price levels

Today's exercise was fucking around on a roof, removing ancient concrete tiles, in order to run some cabling for Mrs TA and her brother at Dead Grandad's estate.

Physical labouring makes me glad I'm a desk jockey.

And her brother? What, he’s got one leg or something?

He's unfit and does not do well with ladders. TBF he has done a shitload of the work inside, ruined his back doing it.

To your point: I am going to be glad when we're done. And there better be some serious thankyou-sex from the wife when it is sold.

Failing that, her Mum and Uncle could both get struck down by COVID and leave the profits of sale to us.

It was mentally tough to go through the 2km mark and not turn back up the 3km route, however I felt better once I passed 3km on this route as it flattens out and you can see all the idiots coming.

Splits 6:40, 6:35, 6:50, 6:52, 7:00 - a reflection of the pace I was trying to keep on my first 5km in months

Thanks. Funny how the mind is the biggest barrier... tho my calves are probably going to tell me about it as well πŸ˜‰

With that time being under 35 minutes I might bring forward the program by a week:

    Week 3: 5km jog/shuffle any pace
    Week 4: 5km under 35 minutes
    Week 5: 5km under 30 minutes
    Week 6: 5km under 28 minutes

Effectively skipping Week 3, so maybe I'll go for more distance...

@NTA oath bro! I think that's one of the really challenging things with running particular (maybe just for the front row club!) . You can pretty much always do more than you think you can... but will you!

Just don't injure yourself mate, last thing you want to do is set yourself back 3 weeks

Anyway tonight I did a bit of body weight, and I mean a bit - totally fucked after three rounds of chinups, pushups, squats with one minute breaks.

First set: 3 chinups, 10 pushups, 20 squats
    Second: 3 chinups, 8 pushups, 20 squats
    Third: 2 chinups, 5 pushups, 20 squats

    Fark. Not the best.

    Bodyweight tonight again:

3 chinups, 10 pushups, 20 squats for two sets, then
2 chinups, 6 pushups, 20 squats for the last.
    Felt better after

Skipped my run yesterday as I was a bit tired - last 2 days haven't done any exercise really except about 7km walking the last couple of days and a shitload of pressure cleaning the concrete at The Deceased Estate. Italians love them the concrete. Jeez. Must be over 100sqm of the fucking stuff. Anyway, it clean now. The contrast is amazing...

Back on the road this morning. Didn't do HR as I was fighting off the need to take a dump - Thai food and cocktails last night led to a late one 😎

Body weight last night. Finished all three sets tho the 3rd chinup and last two pushups were a struggle in set 3.

Think I need to spend a couple of nights a week just doing upper body. Chinups especially don't get better unless I work hard on them. Would like to get back to 5.

Run this morning, aiming for sub-32 minutes

Went out pretty hard for the first 2km then cruised back, tho it didn't feel cruisy with 500 to go.

No lingering vision issues so that's good.

Waterblasting is such fun. Not many chores like that where you can see instant results that are so dramatic. (well maybe chainsawing down the neighbours tree)
