Absolutely disgusted myself on NY eve and resolution is therefore to finally fix diet. Seeing a sports dietician next week.

Allowing yourself a window to binge is nice but I take it way too far. Hopefully I can find a diet that can properly satiate the intense cravings that are popping up more frequently. It will be an even bigger issue now that I've decided to go the half-marathon (Saturday) and marathon (Sunday) double in July.

Cmon give us the details. What did you put away?

Knowing how obsessive he is probably what the rest of us put away on a normal day 😉

Was relatively clean until the afternoon (although had 4 schnitzels for lunch) then it all went silly season:
Nachos (entire pack of corn chips and 500g mince), block of chocolate and 3 muesli bars. A mountain of fried chicken wings. 2 pizzas. Fries and potato gems. At least a dozen pieces of sushi. Grazed the living shit out of a biscuit and nut platter. If that wasn't enough I ate an entire pack of Cadbury favourites when I came home. I'm pretty sure there was also some cake in there somewhere.

The GF and I left a NY party at around 11 (lightweights) but were woken by neighbours celebrating at 12. I felt extremely sick and was close to vomiting. Spent about 20 minutes on the toilet then stumbled back to bed passed out. Absolutely ridiculous that I treat my body like a temple and then farking set it on fire. Not good.

Apart from the cake, chocolate and biscuits I have this food reasonably regularly.

Does it actually affect your physique?

I'm genuinely surprised you can eat that much without vomiting. I have a colossal food appetite, I could literally eat all day. But there is no way I could get through that lot.

Visually I don't think so. I don't weight myself or take measurements. But I feel like a bloated pig for a few days. Very uncomfortable.

Was talking to one of the swimming coaches and when he was competing his coach told him to take a cheat day because he was getting too thin. So he ate 12 Krispy Kreme donuts 🤯. He said that his body responded rather negatively to that.

Started my Sunday training for this ridiculous double run in July. Good thing about it is that it will rein in my Saturday excesses because I've now experienced how awful running 17km after a day like that can be.

Despite promising to turn over a new leaf, Saturday was again a bit of a shit show. It didn't help that I had a much anticipated double movie day with my youngest. First film started at 9:45 (Spiderman) so I decided to bring lunch and snacks to avoid hunger (I'd done a crossfit workout and swimming that morning). So during that film I ate 4 schnitzel wraps, a packet of chips, 4 donuts and 3 protein bars. But at least I had a bottle of sugar free Gatorade right🤪.

Then had another lunch of a large kebab and chips. Then second film (Ghostbusters) with a tub of ice cream and packet of choc chip cookies. Fark.

Dinner was 2 quesadillas and 4 schnitzels followed by a protein pudding. Thankfully I was so tired I fell asleep at 8:30 and thus was unable to continue the debauchery. Perhaps I should mention that I had 12 weetbix for breakfast as well. Fark.

Anyway, got a very good night's sleep but the run was uncomfortable to say the least. Had 3 shit stops (thankfully plenty of public toilets around) and I felt like I'd chugged 2 gallons of water. On the plus side I seemed to have unlimited energy that day. But yes, I cannot continue with Saturdays like that if I want to run on Sundays.

    9 days. Feck.

Still doing the work but feel I'm losing momentum and the sessions (particular the swimming) are becoming super hard. I suffer through to the end but it shouldn't be that way. I think its diet and sleep related. Playing too much catchup in that regard. Was going to contact sports nutritionist last week but GF informed me that she had planned that as my birthday present so have to wait another week. She knows me so well!

So hopefully I can get the diet right. As mentioned, the cheat days are getting out of control and that's not good for the body or soul going forward.

Another factor may be the new weekend routine. On Saturday I do the Crossfit workout Murph for an hour and then an hour of swimming. Sunday is now an 18km run, which isn't pleasant after a day of excess.

    Murph is
    1 mile run
    100 pullups
    200 push-ups
    300 squats
    1 mile run

It's a bit of a bitch. Have a few others I'd like to try as well. Destroys the core.

I bitched out a bit. You break it down by going
    5 pullups
    10 push-ups
    15 squats
    X 20

The "real" crossfitters do it with a weight vest and without breaking it up. Although they do those kip pullups which I'm not a fan of.

Just had one of those body scans. Very interesting. 7% body fat. Makes me wonder what I was last year when not doing cheat day 😬.

Seeing dietician next week and will look to see how I can change things up a bit in terms of chow.

That's not kipping. That's butterfly, and is apparently easier again? But I cbf trying it cos it looks even harder on the hands

    @rancid-schnitzel whats your muscle mass?

    7% is fucking lean!

I'm looking to get a scan in another month, in theory, as I've dropped 6kg, most of that should be fat, even then my % will still be high teens, and I'll be stoked with that haha.

@MN5 I'd probably end up like that, but more cos my shoulders would fall out and my hands still holding the bar! My shoulders hurt just watching kipping/butterfly pull ups!

Weight is 69.3kg, skeletal muscle mass is 36.4kg.

Would prefer to be 73 or 74kg so will have a good chat to dietician about the best way forward within the "framework" of my present programme.
