Bit of a lag here.
Saturday was a farking hard set. Seems like coaches are competing for KZ Kommandant award. Timed 50m sprints. Farking sucked. Run afterwards was hard.
Today: Other Kommandant had a crack. 1km warmup then 25m max, 10 push-ups, 10 squats, 10 burpees, 10 crunches. Then 25m max kick back to the other end and 10 med ball throws, 10 pyramid curls and 10 dips. Then bear crawls the length of the pool and back (stopping every 5 for 10 mountain climbers and a burpee). Then rinse and repeat. Did 4 all up I think. Pretty smashed now.

Thursday already.
Tuesday: youngest had swimming training and gym for 2.5 hours so went to a local gym with a pool. Gym session was ok (gym a bit small), but pool was shit. Was pushing 40 degrees and half of farking Ipswich was there. Managed maybe a km but was sick of dodging or waiting behind hippos doing breaststroke.
Wednesday: Boot camp in the morning. This was tough. Bloody hot already at 6. Really like this type of training. Hope it becomes permanent.
Swimming then in the evening. Was hoping for an easy session but it was the opposite. 10x 100m on 2 min is never fun. Slept very well
Thursday: Pretty drained today but mustered a decent gym workout. Thankfully the heat isnāt so bad today. Hate aircon but might have to use it if the summer will be this bad.

@Rancid-Schnitzel "Was hoping for an easy session but it was the opposite."
What in your entire history of doing these sessions, led you to believe that this could be a possibility??!!!

Friday: This was a nice one. The mother of an old friend of my eldest trains at the same gym as me and is a bit concerned that her son has a bit of an eating disorder. She wants him to exercise rather than starve so has signed him up for the gym, but being only 15 he needs an adult with him to sign in etc and she and her husband work full time. So I was more than happy to do that. Heās a good kid. Shy and awkward, but very polite. Doesnāt like the āfeelā of junk food and has been on a diet for 2 years. I can see why his mother is concerned. But I think heāll be ok as long as he trains regularly and eats enough good stuff. I suggested a treat day but he doesnāt even want any treats! Hopefully regular exercise will make him realise he needs that extra fuel to achieve his goals. But Iām happy to chaperone him during the holidays. Unfortunately he has nothing more to do with my son and I wish I could train with both of them but itās nice to help out a good kid with a bright future.
Saturday: Had a bad sleep and felt like death when swimming started but knew if I could get over the hump Iād be right. Was tough but got there. Run and intervals afterwards were murder in the heat but managed ok.
Monday: Humid as fück at 5! Sweated like a bitch during intervals so was nice to hit the pool even if it was a session concocted by Hitlerās spawn. One part we had to run around the pool holding a medicine ball over our heads. Another was doing bear crawls while pushing a medicine ball. When you think of it, itās absolutely ridiculous that I pay money to do that! But I love that shit and is a great way to start the day.

diet has been discussed on another thread, but it is so much cheaper to buy/eat shit food, so not only a conscious decision for families, but a financial one as well.
Sure easy to say your health is high importance, but cost still plays the part in decisions.

Definitely. For a teenager that is freaking hard, because (as you are probably very well aware of) they eat ridiculous amounts. His parents seem switched on so thatās good and it doesnāt always have to be so expensive if youāre happy to do without the variation. Chicken and rice are pretty cheap here. Same for things like lean turkey mince and frozen veggies.

@Rancid-Schnitzel ha yep, last night, TR Junior after having the full Sunday meal, proceeded to have 2 massive sandwiches and was still rooting around in the pantry for more food.
And he did fuck all yesterday too, but had been at a mates place all weekend and I swear they dont feed him when he is there haha

Possible slight thread hijack here but I like grabbing those protein chocolate bars from the servo every now and again, fuck all carbs and sugar but 40gms of protein ! awesome for maintaining the gains ( I hope )
Musashi? They have some great products. Expensive but quite often on special.
Have a bottle of Musashi Shred which I will sample this week. 30g of protein and 0.9 sugars or something

I remember dad bought cans of spaghetti/baked beans, along with bread and a block of cheese. That was our after school but before dinner meal. Head home - refuel then off out until returning to eat dinner. Cheese on toast, toasted sammies, etc were staples. We didn't mind our veges or fruit so didn't have any problems eating a pretty decent diet overall.
-
oh and shakes! fruit, milk, and add some protein powder etc if you need to bulk it up (boom tish). A great way to get some fuel onboard without too much hassle.

When my eldest was swimming heād eat stupid amounts of pasta. Would just remove the pot from the stove and eat from it.

@Paekakboyz I introduced TR Jnr to noodle sandwiches...he laughed at me when I suggested it, but he likes them now!

Ha ha. I used to have Vegemite sandwiches with corn chips. Washed down with a fullcream milk shake with ice cream, two eggs and vanilla essence. Once I threw a piece of cake into the blender. Fark

@Rancid-Schnitzel love marmite/vegemite sandwiches with chips on them!

Chest and biceps today. Back on the drop set programme - 15, 10-15, 5-10-15. Good shit.

Triple up yesterday!
Bootcamp
Gym - back and tris
Evening swimmingFelt ok actually and swim was great. Donāt think Iāll continue this much longer. Bootcamp is more to help out the swimming club and kind of an unnecessary expense considering Iām a member of a gym that offers bootcamp classes. Still, really enjoy them and can understand the popularity of these types of workouts.
Legs today. Not bad. A bit tired but powered through.

Unusually social weekend having to go to gfās work Xmas party on Saturday and then her family thing on Sunday. Partners really shouldnāt come to these work things but it was pleasant enough and I was quietly chuffed that people kept asking me if I was a PT or worked in fitness
. Must be doing something right.
For whatever reason the temp has plummeted here since last week and the pool was farking cold on Saturday and particularly this morning. Wasnāt fun having to do a 50 max effort then bear crawls around the entire pool. Thankfully itās a 25m and not a 50m pool!
