One of the boys at my gym is into his crossfit too and reckons he got thru 7 of the 75kg snatch. Said was gonna have another crack over the weekend though.

Looks all too hard for my liking!

Great score, puts him in the top 200 in the Aussie region. He registered on the leader board? -
As the scores pour in for 13.1, in the Aussie region I'm managing to stay in the top 1000 for overall Men (my goal for the open), and mid 30s for the 40-44 Masters. A much better start than last years, think I have the second best score in my gym for guys.
I used to love these sorts of things when rowing - making sure you stayed near the top of your age group and trying to compete with the young bucks! Doing bloody well - anyone in close range in the age group you can knock off you reckon...?? -
Last year, some friend of my cousin was having a mini battle with me. Haven't found my target yet, don't see any names I know. My coach has slipped up to the 45-55 masters category.

As comparison for last year, In round 1 I was 2118 in Oz. This morning I'm at 991, probably will slip a bit more over the next day, but I expect it will stay around 1000ish, so a much better start than last year. And because of how they score it (how many people ahead of you), a good start is really important.

Just finished the Cindy "conditioning" workout today, so that should keep me ticking over. The bad thing about the open workouts is you can lose your endurance a bit over the course of the comp.

20mins, ended up at 80 kipping pullups (for the pedants), 160 chest to ground pushups, 230 squats. Pushups went early for me, after last weeks million burpees, had to struggle those out. -
I think this is the aspect of Crossfit that appeals the most - being able to workout in your local gym with your mates and compete internationally is awesome!

Keep up the good work Kirwan, you are representing the Fatbusting crew and expectations are high!! 5 scoops of rage before the next workout should see you on fire ha ha -

Hell, I'm a two scooper too! AS is the wife!!

and so long as you're not taking it every day, Rage does not need to be cycled etc.

And if you are using 4/5 times a week (generally 4)? -
Confirmed positions have me at;

Individual: 20990 and 1243 for Worldwide and Australian region (so have slipped out of the top 1000 I'm aiming for)

Masters 40-44: 1197 and 53 (same order)

Could be worse. I'm in with a shot as long as they keep some heavier weights in their for higher reps. -
Well done mate. Just looked you up on the leaderboard.

I see the likely suspects are up the top after workout 1 - Rich Froning, Jason Khalipa -

Hey K, 4 times a week, just on the weights workouts. So usually 2 on, 1 off 2 on, 2 off...
Ok, that is very similar to me with the frequency. Tried the double scoop today (perfectly timed for 6am workout), don't feel the boost at the beginning as much, but definitely feel the benefit at the back of a workout, high reps are being maintained.

Had a good strength morning with my push press. Worked that up to 80kg x 5, added 5kg to my PB. So pretty much what I weigh. -
that is mean bro! being able to lift your bodyweight over your head is an achievement, let alone 5 reps! I've been transitioning to these at the end of my military presses. There is a surprising amount of technique to doing it efficiently, not enough snap and that weight just doesn't want to move!
-
13.2 released today: 10min AMRAP of 5 x 115lbs Shoulder to Overhead, 10 x 115lbs Deadlift, 15 x Box Jumps

I suspect this is going to be one of the ones that look easy enough on paper, and halfway through you can't straighten your back or jump or something. Breaking it down, I'm completely fine with the presses, that weight won't bother me for the number of rounds I expect to get.

I struggle to cycle deadlifts with any speed, so I'll try to transition from the press straight to the dead lift for as long as I can to save some time.

Box Jumps I will really struggle with. I still step down, and don't cycle them to save my dodgy calves and Achilles. That will be too slow for this sort of sprint workout, so will have to force myself to cycle, again for as long as I can.

I'm really not sure what I'm going to aim for this. I think in the 6-8 rounds range (180-240). 8 is pretty unrealistic though, considering the Games athletes have had a crack and got 12, still it's pretty short and those extra four rounds are 120 reps difference, so maybe.

Some mad men have done the workout already, and there are a lot of scores in the mid 200s, and looking for people that got the same score as me in 13.1, it ranges from 180-240 (same as above).

I'll have some fast guys to chase in the gym tonight. The brothers cycle the box jumps like rabbits, so I expect big scores from them. -
Fuck. Ing. Hell.

I'm sure I've felt worse after a workout, but not sure when. That was utterly awful, seriously considering not repeating it.

Just got to 180, Deadlifts went first and had to break them up into fives. Lower back fatigued big time after 30 of them. Box jumps were slow and got slower. Just nowhere to hide in this one, you either have the wind fitness to do it or not.

JK, the cycling means you rest on the box, then spring back up and repeat. Much faster, but I could only do that for two rounds, and I think it wiped me out for the rest.

Going to try and jump down, then set and go again. Should be faster than a step down, and less harsh on my back. Oh fuck, guess that means I'm going again....
