    I'm gutted, I would have killed that. My Grace time is 2.50ish, and that's 30 clean and jerks at the same weight.

    Pretty much zero chance. Supposed to take weeks to get over this. I snuck in to judge tonight, and set my 1 rep. <br />

    Of course I did six, and I was in a fair bit of chest pain without even getting out of breath. <br />

    I think I'll ask to do these later to at least know what my score is, even if the ranking is over now.

    Did 6 for the last workout of the open too, disappointing but if you're sick, you're sick. Finally starting to come right, so planning the recovery now. <br />

    Metcons are out, same with anything that makes me breath too heavy. So am starting (hopefully) next Wednesday, focusing on skills and strength, and workouts where I can control my breathing and rest in between sets.<br />

    Taking it as an opportunity to get my first muscle up. So need more Ring Dips (target 15) and strict pullups. have neglected these recently, and need that 10 consistently. Then i'll work on the transition for the MU, and get kipping.<br />

    Been Crossfitting for two years on Monday.

    Yep, they (and double unders) are skills that are celebrated when you finally crack them. Same with snatches, overhead squats, kipping pullups, etc

    Marcs still doing pretty well. Slipped back a bit in 13.3 and 13.4 but currently top for Australia on 13.5 with 164. Be plenty more to come though that'll go through to 3rd round and beat that score by alot. Hopefully can stay inside the 30 by the end.<br />

    The metcons are the for time or AMRAP workouts. <br />

    Have had a setback, went back to work too early and have been pretty ill all weekend. No energy reserves at all, has been hard to shake.

    Oh, and that's a great score for 13.5, they should stream regionals this year as its getting bigger. Look forward to watching him, those sort of athletes are pretty inspiring

    Yes, thanks, it took some time. I ended up going for a week holiday after trying to get back to exercise, I had tried exercise before that but suffered for it. After that last week off, I got enough rest to finally recover (five weeks!). <br />

    First week back this week, made four sessions and strength was good, no real drop off there but cardio fitness needs improvement...<br />
    <br />
    And of course I tweaked something, outside of my left knee went funny squatting. Seems OK with a bit of rest. <br />
    <br />
    Had put on 1.5kg over the month, but got that off pretty easily this week. <br />

    Do your trainers have any advice about tight/sore abductors? I've been getting more flexible and getting lower on front and back squats - seem to have hit a sticking point and I've worked out its an abductor/hip thingy problem. Worst when doing front squats and trying to keep the torso upright. Feel it most when I'm powering out from the bottom of the squat. Can kind of avoid it by not going as deep but that isn't a long term workaround.<br />

    I know squats are a big part of the crossfit scene so I wondered if this was something you've dealt with? Kind of sucks as I know my form etc is pretty good and I stretch a heap. Guess I'm not doing enough or missing 1-2 key stretches that would help avoid this problem...

    The trainer was mentioning that there are certain foam roller exercises for that area I should be doing. Google Kelly Starrett, he's the Crossfit mobility expert they bring in to talk about this sort of stuff. He's big on looking for those sorts of weaknesses and gives mobility drills to improve flexibility and increase strength in really specific movements and muscle areas. <br />

    I roll out for glutes, quads, and lower back. Haven't seen any variations for hip/abductors so hopefully I pick up some tips via that guy. Cheers!

    caught the last 15 minutes on ESPN of the World Crossfit games 2012 the other morning. OMG, awesome. Fran I think it was to finish, 21, 15, 9 of squat thrusts and then chin ups.<br />

    Fran is one of the worst. Short workout, but one of the most likely to make you puke.
