cable curls keep the tension on right through the whole range of motion, no easing off at the top and bottom or the range of movement, so is pretty gnarly!

We do in our current 4 week cycle also have BB curls and concentration curls to round out the biceps. Next 4 week cycle, who knows what we'll get, no doubt it'll hurt whatever it is...!!

well, I did not bludge on my leg training yesterday, as my legs are reminding me that they were worked over yesteday every step I take, every move I make...

Back worked out today - 9 degrees in the gym, was classic, doing my seated rows could feel the heat from the working muscles something wicked on each set until the whole body warmed up properly. A weird localised feeling of warmth!

Bit of sting in the legs is it?? shit 9 degrees!? that would have been some cold steel and chilly vinyl!

Another reason why I prefer to workout later in the day!

yes, gloves would have been handy so you don't freeze to the bars... But used to it now, think the lowest it got last winter was about 5 or so!

yes, legs feeling a little of the love I gave them yesterday!!

Warmer today - shoulders demolished, and another weeks worth of weights demolished too... Yay!

What are you doing for shoulders? would be interested to hear - other than shrugs (which is kind of traps/shoulders) I seem to have slow progress on shoulder development. You've got an old shoulder injury too right? that must involve a bit of cunning management!

man flu'd up, but still training (made leg workout yesterday a whole new experience, had to sit down between sets or would have fallen down)!! But on the upslope now and feeling better.

Shoulder injury - twinged Monday on chest, gutted, but heaps better now. Management for it - heaps of those side arm things with bungy cords and cables - all those little exercises the physio gives you but you never end up doing!!

Doing heaps of lat raises with cables, dumbelss etc, standing and bent to get some more shoulder width. Dumbell press too or BB press always part of the programme too.

Trainined at our trainers gym in Manukau on Monday too, chest day, tat was fun, but because we were all jabbering away for so long toook forever!!

Visit to nutritionist on Monday was OK for me, great for Ness again. I have added muscle mass, but my BF has gone up at the same time - now just ovr 8 as opposed to 7.5. Told Tarren that it was her fault because she has been giving me too much food. She laughed and said you should never say that to a nutritionist, and proceeded to take all my food away... WEll, from 2900 calories a day down to about 2500...

OTher than that, nose is running, head in a vice, pissing every five minutes, but all is well!!

Back workout today, last one on the old programme, new one starts next week, have not even looked at it yet, still feel like death warmed up, drinking water like a parched camel and pissing every 30 seconds, or so it seems.

Roll on feeling better.

agreed! sometimes just day to day work fatigue means I can't be arsed, let alone a dose of the flu!

don't feel too bad in the morning after superpump, but by evening feel like death warmed up. Missed both rugby trainings this week, whcih for me is never done. Showed face at Thursday before leaving though. Over the worst of it now, just the snotty mucus filled nose now!!

New programme starts next week too, can't wait!

Mornings and evenings are when you tend to feel the worst with the flu I reckon. If you are managing to get through a morning workout you must be on the way back to the living!

Let us know what evils that new programme holds bro - always seems to be 1-2 things that the rest of us can poach or at least try (once!).

I'd love to get cheeky about crossfit, Kirwan and small towns but I grew up down the road in Paekakariki so I'd best stay quiet!!

nothing that looks as demonic as the leg press jump squat thing. We're into some lower reps high weight again this programme. Squats get down to 2 reps. But as food has now been cut down, only 80% on squats is the call from D'hoon.
we compete 20th August, is usually a 8-12 week sort of thing, but as we've been eating pretty cleanly all year round we don't do it as hard as some. Still, plenty of weight to knock off before Whakatane. If I don't make the weight though I'll do Masters Physique there, and then at Welly 3 weeks out from Nationals will do the athletic, then at Nationals that'll mean if I come in heavy for Athletic I'll be able to go into Masters Physique, as opposed to sitting in the audience eating!!

Chest today, forst day of new workout. Couldn't really get stuck in, as left shoulder (the historically bung one) is playing up. SO lower weights and slow reps. Should be able to manage around this I hope. Not what you need at any time, sucks, especially when it has been doing so well for the last year. Oh well. A neat workout though, low reps and a few twists and turns on the DB exercises to attack the chest at different angles.

legs today, nice to be back in the squat rack, even if it was for a 4 set total of 16 reps!! Felt good, will be able to amp up the weight next week after getting the legs back this week. Finished at 140kg, well within myself (hell, 2 reps is not a lot), but meant to be only hitting out on squats at 80% now that we are eating less to reduce chances of injury.

Walked home around the 'old pub road' last night (the Whangamata bypass), the start of 9 weeks of cardio session, sucked, but gotta be done, 58 minutes.

Well, almost. Is the tendon long head of the bicep falring up. Happening also on right shoulder, but not as bad. From the increase to 2 days a week on arms basically. SO great that it is not rotator cuff, but still sucks, double but light at the end of the tunnel, will do 1 arm workout a week and should come right.
So on track, but time to get serious - cardio 45 minutes every day now, and food cleaned well up, not many option left now when eating, time to get lean and mean, August 20 getting closer and closer...

pretty much, and pumpkin for carbs. Next time I visit foodgod I will have eaten 21 kilos of Pumpkin, 14 odd kilos of chicken breast, 21 cups or whole grain rolled oats, 14 kilos of vegetables (green please, asparagus and beans to the front and centre), and enough eggs to make an omelet with a diameter of 10 feet... Can sub fish in for chicken when I feel like it too. Not other subs, treats are now watching McDonalds adds....
