Yeah, gets manhandled by players much smaller. He's always going to he one of those frustrating players - shows the odd glimpse of what he is capable of but generally punches well below his weight.

With all doom n gloom around nz super rugby sides there are some players in really good form like Laumape, Smith, Frizell, lomax in this game plus others like ALB ect.

@antipodean I thought it was the case when the defending team can only step over the ball and have to leave the attacking halfback

Noticed this ref is calling tackle release before tackle complete. If you released him player would be off. Seems strange
