Hurricanes vs Chiefs

@Yeetyaah That may happen in the games against minnows, or if Crotty is injured.
There should be little debate that ALB is a superior player to Crotty, in both talent and form.
Yep. Be good to see ALB & Goodhue get some serious gametime together. Hansen and co. really need to sort the starting 12/13 combo.

@mariner4life You're hilarious! :grinning_face:

It's quite simply true. Crotty has been a decent placeholder. When available. Good glue player. But ALB just has more talent, and is currently living up to it.

@mariner4life And I think you're simply wrong. Crotty is uncontested the best organiser of the defence in tight games. I wouldn't trust any other midfielder with that job in the big games.
He's way more than a decent placeholder. ALB is a good player, but not consistent enough.

@Stargazer not consistent enough? Seems to be stringing a huge number of quality games together. In all jerseys.

That's because of the opportunities that come when you're not always injured.

@Chris-B Haha, at this stage, I can't even see him going to the RWC. My guess is that they'll pick Crotty, ALB, Goodhue and one of Nonu and Laumape (on current form, most likely Nonu).
@Stargazer Poor old Sonny Bill. He spends a couple of weeks injured and everyone forgets about him.

@Stargazer I think they will pick Laumape before Nonu. I think Nonu will only get in if we have injuries throughout the campaign.

12 Sonny Bill
13 Ryan Crotty
14 Anton Lienert-Brown23 Jack Goodhue
You heard it here first!

@mariner4life 100% won't happen.

That's what my wife said.

I see Crotty as a really important squad member. Someone that can come in and do a job at the drop of a hat, and provide plenty of leadership and guidance to younger guys during the tournament. ALB and Goodue are miles ahead at this stage, and based on form I actually think SBW has looked the best of the power centres so far - I'd have him on my bench if he could just stay fit for more than two games.
-
Yeah it's time to move Chase out tbh. He is okay but lacks gas to compete at the back and is often caught out on defence. Lam will come back in on the left for the next game and we will most likely field our best backline so far this season.
Was happy to see Aumua get through 60 odd minutes. He was solid and showed his true strength at times. Still doesn't look like the freak athlete that turned Bridge inside out a few years ago.
@Canes4life I was noticing how “gassed” he looked having to chase (no pun intended) he was blowing a few times which is weird since he’s been training full time with the canes aswell as playing basically full games should have match fitness by now.

On attack, yes... On defense, definitely not

Saw replay last night.
God what a shit player Jordie Barrett is. And as for Ardie Savea! Why persist with such a limited player. Should be nowhere near the ABs.

@Rancid-Schnitzel The truth is Jordie has been shit for most of the year so people were just calling it the way they saw it. He was outstanding on the weekend however.

There's a big difference between saying someone is playing shit and someone is shit and should be flushed. Thankfully the AB selectors are less inclined to write off players in their early 20s.

@Rancid-Schnitzel I've been waiting for days for you to comment on Jordie's performance. This thread is now complete.
