Credit to the Canes they took their very few chances and their scrambling defence was brilliant with their big players stepping up when it counted.

Great win for the Canes. Blues completely outmuscled us but there was enough turnover ball to prove the difference.

Must admit the win is all the more sweeter after reading all the salty tears shed over the ref.

Read in context. He was making mistakes, and there is nothing wrong with commenting on them. Especially when they aren’t applied to the other team.

That and every second post was critical of the Blues.

Blues props look unfit and alternate having toasters for hands. Their bench halfback and five-eighth options are a big step down. There still looks to be a lack of calmness and direction once Nock left.

So the cripple fight is set up again between Blues v Chiefs to see who is the shittest kiwi team. Blues giving me small hope.

@Hooroo I'd back you guys to take it tbh despite you guys not being at your best this season. We're mentally scarred against NZ opposition.

@Hooroo When it gets tough the Blues still think they can just run over players like they did in the lower grades. Structured plays with passing and deception goes out the window.

everyone enjoy another 80 minutes of sneering disdain from TJ? not like the Blues dipshits didnt deserve it but ffs. If a Barrett or Ardie scored the try Papali'i did TJ would be shrieking to the rafters like his ballsack was on fire. Instead its just meh whatever.

When is the avartar change taking place?

Canes have not looked great this year, feels like we're miles away from having a chance of winning the thing, but our W/L is bloody good and the table says we're the 2nd best team in the comp by a distance. Is it just the Crusaders being so good making everyone else look shit? Or the quality of the comp continuing to degrade?

Yep, we are getting a few answers on players. And like you said last week, our squad has no depth, so the next step down is marked in some positions.

This was the most Tana-era like performance this season. Structure lasted 20mins and for brief periods and then we looked at sea.

The attacking maul looked better tonight. I guess.

Canes a really good at absorbing pressure and then counter punching. Best 9 & 10 combo in the country by quite a distance too, so that helps.

@No-Quarter It's funny the Canes haven't looked great for most of the year but they've played pretty great for the team that they have.

You just aren't going to win the competition with a forward pack of that low a quality. You can see why Plumtree chased Akira so hard and was looking for a big munter of a lock.

Canes couldn't get any go forward (besides the bad defence from the Blues flankers on the scrum). Was actually a bit embarassing at times.

Nonu looked to be trying a bit too hard at times to make the advantage line and sacrificed ball security. Bit more patience is needed from a senior player.

Credit to the Canes they took their very few chances and their scrambling defence was brilliant with their big players stepping up when it counted.

@No-Quarter A bit of both I feel, but they're obviously doing something right to be where they are. Thought your forwards were a lot more competitive at breakdown tonight as well with Walker Leauwere making a bit of a difference in that area and Kirifi off the bench was also strong. Tonight's game was quite similar to when the Canes beat the HIghlanders in Dunedin.

Blues attack lost all shape when Plummer went off. The defence setup was off all night particularly on turnovers.
Good to see Scrafton back.. when he gets more match fitness he should be the starter

                                        Another strong game from Dalton

@Duluth We need to do something about Dalton. He can't just be playing 20 minutes off the bench when Robinson comes back anymore. He's way too good for that.

Good grief. The ref was wrong 17 times?!?

                                          Damn that is unlucky!!!

Perhaps they will let Grant Fox or Michael Jones ref the next couple to even it out.
