From memory, Mealamu was a bit poor very early in his career - were he to work on it, he couuuuld become a very similar player.

@gt12 I don’t think it was. Paps was still holding on when the player was tackled. If he doesn’t release and plays at the ball it’s a penalty. It was close but he still had time to release before he ripped the ball.

In my opinion a tackler shouldn’t have to wait to be told to release by the ref. It certainly doesn’t happen at every tackle situation.
