I also wonder if refs would be more relaxed if they didn't have to worry about the impact of issuing cards. Like NRL all they would have to do is put it on report and let a panel of experts deal with it.

The clear tackle in the air as well. A couple of pretty obvious YCs not given as Owens wanted to give the most charitable interpretation possible.
