I've heard a few wrestlers etc who really rate Hindu Press Ups and Hindu squats as good body weight exercises. Has anybody done them, and if so do you rate them as an addition to your training?

yep, been doing them (hindu push ups) for years. good for variety. Mix them up with divebombers and close grip push ups and "perfect push up" handles.
Variety is the key, dont get stuck in rut with one exercise. Mix it up.
My friend sent me link to reverse push ups the other day.

Hindu push ups and DB's are an exercise where overall flexibility in your back and shoulders really helps.
I gave the Hindu press ups a crack last night, obviously a strength/flexibility/movement type exercise.

Doing 20 of these obviously not the same as 20 normal push ups but you are using more muscles.

I like to have some variation as I do push ups pretty much every day, so these will be a nice change from the standard push ups, decline, spiderman ones and clap push ups.

@MN5 yeah I don't generally do any push ups in public, I have a gym area set up in my garage for that stuff, but appreciate the advice!

Not only that you don't put every workout on social media either.

                      Bro, do you even lift?

@MN5 yeah I'm a bit shy, people might critique my technique, how much I am lifting or how many reps...I couldn't handle it.

@MN5 There is a guy named Matt Furey who has a really good book called Combat Conditioning, Hindu Pressups, Squats and Bridges are also called The Royal Court, and are the staple of this program. Really smart way to train.

Seems like everyone refers to these exercises in different ways. First time I hear the name Hindu pushups and Hindu squats and I've been doing these for years.
