Why why why Prinseep the guys about as effective as a paper boat should be Evans at 8 kirifi at 7 and Fifita at 6 with Flanders on the bench also glad Aso and Laumape are the midfield combo they offer so much more. Anybody know who the Canes have called in to replace Le’aupepe

@mikey07 Not sure they have replaced Le'aupepe. I've seen photos of Tuesday's training and didn't see new faces on any of them.

@mikey07 I'm sure Taine Plumtree will be running around somewhere, I know the Canes have been closely developing him over the last few years.

@mikey07 If it's only as injury cover, he would be a good replacement. He hasn't been injured for a while (he played 11 out of 12 M10 Cup games in 2019). He's only 25; why younger? 2m tall locks are hard to find and he's been in the Canes environment for years. The Canes could do a lot worse.

The only change to the Sharks team that beat the Highlanders is the inclusion of Boeta Chamberlain at flyhalf in place of Curwin Bosch who has unfortunately had to deal with a family bereavement and has returned home to South Africa.

Just trained alongside the Sharks! Fark they are big'uns. Always interesting seeing how they train, lots of weighted plyometric stuff. A couple of props were doing drills. Very fast feet!!

Taine Plumtree took part in the light training the Hurricanes had at Kilbirnie Park on Tuesday. He looks decidedly smaller than James Blackwell so would be an ideal replacement given the Canes current lock size criteria preferences.

@Higgins Taine is 5cm taller and will no doubt fill out more being a young lad.

@Canes4life Goodness, looks can be deceiving. Will have to get my eyes tested again soon as five centimetres can make a big difference to a man if it is applied to the correct body part!

@Higgins Lol why were you so close? Go and have another look at him on Saturday. Plumtree and Ah Koui (Chiefs) who played together at school are pretty much identical in height. Both are taller than Blackwell.

@Canes4life I've noticed the condescension in your comment, but I'll let that go. Cridge has been training with the Crusaders during preseason, so maybe he's still there. Or he has to work on Saturday. Plenty of reasons why players don't appear in the line-up of a development team.

I think if he wasn’t injured and wanted to make a serious crack at a rugby career he would be available for this match. We might see him in the Crusaders side then if he’s been training down there. Not sure if that has been named yet or not.

@Canes4life Comedy gold Wellington4life 😉 ... we Magpies fans have been harder on Cridge than anyone as he got promoted to the Canes based on his Canterbury heritage, and then promptly got injured and barely played for anyone including the Magpies. Then when he finally got a decent run of games the Canes dumped him and prefer to play a midget lock from Wellington instead.
