Talea was on fire.
Started slowly but gained confidence, which was good to see.
-
@chris-b I think you’ve summed that up perfectly.
-
Pretty comfortable win, nice to start with an away bonus point win.
Scrum was huge, defence was mostly good and we dominated them in the physical exchanges. Canes probably lucky not to leave more cards for some pretty cynical play.
Black looked nice and composed out there.
My highlight was Akira swotting away Ardie Savea for one of his good runs.

My two cents
Firstly How the actual hell Blackwell got a contract extension is beyond me he conceded 3 penalties has buckets for hands and got carded...YET stayed on the field before Scranton’s injury.
For the Canes. I was Teally impressed with Julian Savea he played nothing like he did during the NPC, Aumua was incredible really put his hand up, disappointed in Kirifi when he came on really tried to hard. I thought Ardie and Flanders and Taumateine played really well,Campbell looked really nervous which Is understandable.
For the Blues was impressed the way Black ran the game the blues loosies really stood up and I also thought Talea was on fire.

He was poor even by his standards in this game. But hes loved by the coaches for god only knows what reason

Nisbett with another cheapshot at an Ioane brother. Time to retire you parochial moron.
It’s amusing how bitter some people can be, particularly against an All Black that’s scored heaps of trys.
-
Canes of recent seasons have done well with a handful of gun players surrounded with lots of glue.
With both Beaudy and TJ gone, they might be a bit short on guns and have a bit too much glue.
-
@kirwan Especially when they're paid to promote the game. A lot of very mediocre people in NZ rugby.

At least it wasn’t Tony Johnson

@tim Since when are commentators paid to promote the game? They're paid to provide commentary.
@stargazer LOL, do you know what marketing is? It's generally considered a core role in the entertainment business. They're not there to make snide comments about star attractions.

I kinda get that, but it’s a bit naive if you truely believe it.
They’re paid by Sky, Sky need to sell as many subscriptions as possible, Sky will want their commentators promoting the game.

It's one thing I grudgingly admire about the NRL commentators. Most commentate like they genuinely believe it is The Greatest Game Ever, and no argument could ever be entered into.
And then for Origin they multiply that by a factor of ten.
