AB selectors should be keeping an eye on Roe and Nankivek for national honours later in the lesson. Class acts. Cane and Retallick go well too for old fellas.

The NZ sides all look like slightly better versions of Wales. We're going to need to find more grunt and bulk up front from somewhere to be confident of getting past France, Ireland, South Africa and England in the RWC next year.

Yeah disappointing, game seemed very much there for the taking by the 'landers, just opportunities not taken and some very dumb play at times, especially most of the penalties.

Would've been nice to see the Chiefs first try called back for the very conspicuous obstruction by Nankivell, seeing as we then had one later in the game for what was (at first) a very inconspicuous knock on.

Is Paea good at NPC level? Because people seem to rate him and yet any time I've seen him play, he's cake. Him and Lentjes both with some yuck handling just as we were strating to look dangerous.

Stevenson dropping the shoulder into Dawai's head and then the ref saying "he's just a wing" .....nice.

Nice win Chiefs - some bloody lovely sweeping movements to get points and Roe is stepping up very nicely. Liked Sowakula's hurdle over Smith for that try.

Oh and lastly - who is Mole-ee?

DLB, TUJ and Dickson have certainly bulked up, although not sure it was a good move for Danmoobs LB, he'd only just come on when he scored and then was hitting the ground like he'd been on for 95 at every stoppage.

    Actually almost forgot.

That guy Hunt would make a great 15, if only we had a classy 10 to step in so we could shuffle him back.

While we're at it, could do with a midfielder or two to lead the way in place of Paea...if only we could have got a naki second five...

No comment on the game ... just started watching the game now.

But fark is that ground a promotional video for NZ tourism?

That shot straight down the ground (Josh Ioane's first shot at goal) is fucking surreal.

Fuck, times like that I miss NZ.

Bit of perception vs reality for you. In QT at the mo. Pissing down all day til KO. Fuck all open cause of fucked up covid isolation rules. No people here. Game of footy in involving my fav team. Poked my head over fence went meh sat in pub 2 mins across gave it a sideways glance on the telly.
    Whole thing is fucked

Well aren't you just the positive wee fella? I always wonder why some bothet getting out of their house on some days .

He was quite good off the bench for Ta$man a couple of years ago, but hasn't shown the same sort of form as a starter. Was pretty much injured all of last season though.

This ground makes for poor viewing.

    It’s a club ground FFS.

Terrible defensive communication between Smith ,Evans and Frizzell who must of been having a snooze

They were busy listening to the “analysis” from Justin Marshall telling everyone that the play was set up for the open side.

Mitch Hunt having a very ordinary game

Yeah, hanging a lot of that first half in him and dawai

There were a couple of players really showing like that might be able to do something ( timu) but we just weren’t getting the ball to them, poor distribution and poor clearances, I think he’s got in his own head with his kicking, his place kicks have an even shorter walk up than normal and his kicks for touch…he was almost facing towards our line and hooking around…very Awkward

I though dawai looked like he could do something…but why was he on one wing for kick offs but playing on the other, just looked like he didn’t know what he should be doing…plus’s loads of straight up mistakes

Huge plus was our line out…never seen coltman throw that well, was a worry after Dixon left, please keep it up

Props in general all looked good and strong

Lots of the team are either new or coming back from long injuries (timu, dawai, paea, TUJ, fakatava) and it really showed, hopefully things start falling into place

I wonder how they would have dealt with it if upon jumping his knee went straight into the tackler's head?

Or if the tackler made contact and Gus got flipped on his head?

How was Smith going to defend that blind against a rampant 8 anyway?
Even if he hadn’t moved open he would have been run through

@crazy-horse yeah I was thinking that, well more the latter when I saw it.

Jeez Frizell was so late coming off, PGS was already hurdling when Frizell breaks

Tbf nuggie wouldn't have stopped Pita Gus. Defs seen worse instances of jumping that seemed like more of a step

Scrum had gone down and he was on his knees.
A side effect of refs allowing the ball to be cleared from collapsed scrums and experienced players know it

Most of his clearances were under 12 level. Might as well have just handed the ball to the opposition as we would have made more ground. One was truly bizarre, had all the time in the world and went sideways.

I was happy with the way Iaone played. If he kicks on he could be a huge plus for the Chiefs.

Those long passes worked on Saturday, some of them were sweet to see. It will be interesting to see if he has the vision to know when to throw them against teams waiting for the long pass.

@crucial well thats a learning for the inexperienced Frizell then...still bloody slow reaction to allow the 8 to pick up and run 3-5m and start hurdling someone before you even detach.
