Blues vs Hurricanes 02/2022

Prinsep, Blackwell & JGB
Lol what a nightmare.
Man PUJ must be wondering what to do, makes the ABs, plays really well, and the next season gets benched most of the time. This year plays one game, and gets benched for J Savea at 12. What a joke.
Iose, Ardie & Flanders should be the back row.
Love & PUJ should be in that back line. It would look lethal with them at 10 & 12.
On a positive note, good to see Rayasi and Sullivan in there.

I thought that Booth's option-taking and passing was average against the Crusaders so he could have been one back that was dropped.
@bovidae too much averageness in that Canes team. Booth, Garden-Bachop, Savea at 12, Prinsep, Blackwell. It looks like an NPC side.

Since we're playing the Canes, I thought I'd post this classic try.
Probably the best try we've scored against the Canes.

What I don't get is that if Holland wanted to play Savea in the midfield he should have done it in pre-season.
What the f#ck is the point of pre-season, just a waste of time if the team structure doesn't resemble what's going to happen during the season proper.

@gt12 100% he should at the end of the season. As much as I'd hate to see him shift, he's not going to reach his full potential under Holland.
A Umaga-Jensen midfield at the Highlanders would be something special.

Well said. It just shows they don't have any idea.
Making drastic changes to your team after week 1 means whatever plan you have you've already ditched. Are we not thinking ahead? Did they not trust their plan for the season?

Holland has had these boys for years now. And he still chops and changes.
I really hope this coaching group is out end of season.
@foobanz I think his W/L record is nearly under 50%. If this was any other respectable sports league in the world he would have faced the chop ages ago.

@canes4life gee, that is bad. I think in the Boyd era we had the highest winning percentage (even if only 1 title - should have been 2 haha).
I wonder if Boyd would ever come back to the Canes.

Sorry for the spam - but I wish we had an NZ rugby media that would put these questions to the coaches.
NZ sports journalism is far too buddy buddy. It's a shame it's fallen down like it has.
@foobanz you're not wrong. The Hurricanes as an organisation seem to be floating along without any real consequence. Win, lose or draw no one in the media seems to care anymore which is a sad state. As I've said previously this organisation needs a complete cleanout.
When was the last time we heard from the G.M?

It's stranger than that. The Canes backline last week looked very sharp at times. Surely that means that you then work on building that to be most of the time/all of the time rather than change it out.
As Isaid I amlooking forward to seeing Jules at 12 but I am alsonot sure it is needed. Or at least have PUJ at 13 -
@kiwimurph that's if they take the field.

11-15 for the Blues is something else. Under the roof they will be very hard to contain.
