TBH, I don't think that's the issue. These players should be doing better than this.

They should be, but I'm thinking especially J. Ioane instead of B. Gatland...

That's a bit 'grass is greener' imo. Last year, Ioane was behind Hunt at the Highlanders who is shit this year. Those players are all much a muchness.

Maybe I read too much into these things, but I think Josh Ioane is the sort of player who would respond well to the type of person that Clayton is as a coach.

Ioane had gone downhill a bit by his standards, but I think Gatland is as good as he'll ever be.
