There's going to be a lot of chat about that, but I guess you have to ask if you're supporting your bodyweight.

Ultimately could have gone either way, much like the maul try and several other calls in a game. You can't focus on that one bad call and say we were robbed.

Somebody needs to take a screenshot of that maul try and draw some red circles and post it on their forums.

Robinson always puts in 80 minutes of hard yakka. Thought Nepo, and Perofeta stamped their mark today. Wasn't on the Perofeta bandwagon but tonight he was really good. The ABs could use someone who has his positional kicking game in tight matches.

The Blues would also benefit from his positional kicking. 😉👍

Heart stopping final few mins. Confusing maul laws. Perhaps last few mins of a semi not the time to try to be smart eh?

Should be a cracking final next week. Shame won’t be able to join in the match thread on TSF!

Poor discipline from the Blues in the end there but damn they have to look at that rolling maul bullshit.

                          Match report (quick edition).

We won, fark yeah. First home final in 19 years.
                          Wet. Warm, but wet.

Fark did we go into our shells and stop playing footy.
Brumbies did incredibly well with a limited side to stay in that fight, and damn enar burgle it at the end.
                          Refs swallow whistles.
                          Mauls are a goddamn lottery.
Two best sides in teh final, two best defensive sides in the final.

We'd have a better chance with a 230pm Saturday kickoff. Won't happen, but a sunny day would be loads better.

Sotutu, BB, Robinson, Rieko looked magnificent out there. Rieko created magic at times (when he got the ball).

Blues suffered from Chiefs syndrome at times; not enough rugby nous. Poor decisions.

Still, a win is a win is a win. Time to revenge 1998.

All in all, the refs were mildly random, but didn't affect the outcome too much.

Penalty advantages go on too long (my bugbear). How Nic White didn't get a card for going over a ruck and throwing a ball in the air at the end fo the first half is beyond me.

This year is a massive win for us. Whether we get over the line next week or not, it's been an awesome ride. Roll on the final, roll on '23

Stoked to get out of that one personally. The Brumbies are a stylistic nightmare for us and was hoping to avoid them. They're limited as fuck but fuck they're good at what they do. We sure as hell got away with Romano holding the ball on at the end but fuck it, you win some you lose some. Don't see people talking about the brumbies knock on before Eklunds tip tackle which changed the game along with the rain.

Started to think things were gonna turn for the worst when Barrett dropped the ball over the line and it almost proved true. We just ended up getting stuck and the Brumbies began to do what they do best - grind and chip away at the scoreboard via the high ball and rolling maul.

We couldn't put them away and it nearly cost us similar to the Force game, but we again found a way to get the job done so credit to us. 15 in a row is a fantastic effort. Dare I say the Crusaders style of play will suit us a bit more than the Brumbies?

                            UP THE BLUES!!!

At least you know TJP will be shit and slow and so you can at least plan accordingly. With these two there’s too much much variability between and during matches to be able to plan to. Christie’s shit passing was too often the root cause of BB’s shit and aimless up and unders. Better passing from Christie would have given BB more and better options and would also have given him more time to execute better kicks

Agreed BB was far from perfect but calling someone out for saying 'grand final' is just being fussy. Next week's match is the grand final in much the same way that these matches are all play-offs, even if they're referred to as 'quarter-final', 'semi-final' etc. They're all just synonyms.

The Blues were very ordinary tonight and lucky to get over the line. They played their best Rugby earlier in the season. Razor and his Crusaders will have taken note and will be planning an Eden Park ambush.

Blues got away with heaps, including a win.

                                      Winza win.

                                      Looking forward to next week.

I'll watch the game later (tragic alert!), but not sure about the Christie hate on here.

His passing live was solid, he hit people consistently on a wet night. His work defensively was superb, he gets out and harasses people, and is consistently fast getting there. I don't remember his kicking being too poor on a night that few people kicked well (wet ball, wet underfoot)

All in all, he was fine. A big step up on Nock, way better than TJP. Not Smith, and not showing what Fakatava has. Should take teh line on himself more, he runs infrequently unfortunately.

His speed to ruck and defence work is excellent but his decision making and accuracy has been lacking the past few weeks.

As to the Blues, those damn bombs were clearly a tactic, so hopefully they won't be using them as much kicking to Jordan, Reece and Leicester...

The Blues in full flight are something else, sadly, they went into thier shells and tried to defend.thier lead, the phases leading into Eklunds YC was keystone cop stuff, and was the period that almost lost the game.

There will almost always be reffing decisions that impact the game, but focusing on one is where the problem lies, as others have mentioned already, the non call on White and the maul try...both potentially pivotal moments, but all the focus will be on that last ruck, which when you slow it down could have gone the other way too...
